Aztec V-type Cartridge System Plus brake blocks are quality spares for your V-brake equipped hybrid or mountain bike. The anodised aluminium alloy brake pad shoe has a built-in pivot system which saves weight and makes them easy to align perfectly. The Plus compound gives excellent braking performance in all conditions.
The brake pads have simple slide out pad replacement, so you can also buy the pads on their own without the shoe to renew your brakes. This set includes one set of pads, with shoes and washers.
I ride daily and when my good, original blocks went on my GT hybrid I bought Giant ones to replace them. These were both very noisy and very short lived so bought these Aztecs. Too early to talk about longevity but I'm not really too bothered as they are both quiet and powerful both in the wet and dry. Highly recommended!

Good blocks lots of clearance and tow in adjustment. First ride was good plenty of bite and feel.

What are brakes?
We all know they’re what make your bike stop, but you get different types for different bikes, each with their own advantages.
Who needs brakes?
Anyone with a bike. Although having said that, some fixed wheel bikes don’t actually have a brake, just the resistance of the fixed wheel to slow them down. You should still fit a separate front brake for riding on the road though.
What are the choices?
You need the right brakes for your bike, whether that’s disc brakes or rim brakes. Each will have specific fittings on the frame and different types of wheels, so you can’t just mix and match. Disc brakes can be mechanical or hydraulic. Rim brakes can be single or dual pivot caliper brakes. You can even get coaster brakes and hydraulic rim brakes as more unusual choices.
What should I buy with them?
At some point you’ll need to buy replacement brake pads for your brakes. Might as well stock up with spares when you buy your new stoppers.
Brakes are incredibly important for safety – make sure you buy the right sort and set them up properly. Also, if you have rim brakes, check the braking surface of your wheel rim hasn’t been worn dangerously thin.
