Inconsistent & unreliable chuck - wont fit some valves at all

The Snap-it connector/chuck is a real let down and ruins this pump; disappointing, as the rest of the pump is very effective, is perfect to use and has a luxury feel. Fitting the Snap-it connector is, as advertised, different to other pumps. Once you know the technique it can be fitted to some valves fairly consistently though still often needs refitting on these. On other valve/rim combinations it's a real battle to get a leak free fit and on some valves (those with a longer threaded bit that the top nut screws on to open/close the valve), it is absolutely impossible to get a connection. While the demonstration videos on using this pump are no doubt genuine, in the real world with spokes near the valve, the bike down on the floor etc, the pump is a disaster. NOTE: the model I have (Grey) has the in-line connector. The silver one has a newer L-shaped connector which may be better. If you are buying this pump, it would probably be best to try that one I should add that I am technically able & build and service my own bikes (have worked as a bike mechanic). My wife finds this pump impossible to use. I have had SKS, Specialized & Topeak pumps previously and all have been fine. I'll be replacing the valve head on this one to make usable - extremely disappointing on a premium price pump
