Product description

The 2016 Giant TCR Advanced 3 road bike is lightweight, stiff and smooth. It’s the total all-round road racer for enthusiasts, club riders and those who love to ride, fast. At this price it’s rare to get such a well developed composite frame and capable spec.

You can buy the great value Giant TCR Advanced 3 road racer through a 0% interest Tredz Finance package.

Frame & Fork

The TCR Advanced 3 is a true composite racer with an Advanced grade composite frameset. It is lighter this year, but still retains its pedal stomping stiffness for explosive speed. High Performance Grade raw carbon fibres are chosen from a high stiffness to weight ratio. Resin is used that incorporates vibration damping particles for a more comfortable ride, on longer distances.

The frameset is built as a modified monocoque construction. The front triangle is one piece then joined to the rear stays. This eliminates the need for the outermost composite sheet which reduces weight without compromising ride quality, strength and stiffness.

Up front is an Advanced grade composite, hybrid fork with OverDrive tapered steerer. This massively improves front end stiffness for ultra precise steering - ideal for rapid cornering. Giant’s MegaDrive rectangular downtube and oversized toptube improve front-end lateral and torsional stiffness. This also helps improve steering and improves efficiency for epic sprints.

Components

Matched to the quality frame is the capable and reliable Shimano Tiagra 10 speed drivetrain with compact cranks, and Tiagra brakes. Tiagra has been redesigned for 2016 with many features from the performance 105 groupset. Cables are now hidden and the hood shapes offer more support for your hands.

New for 2016 is a Variant composite seatpost to lower frame weight and also improve ride quality. The natural vibration damping qualities of carbon help keep you feeling fresher for longer. Easy adjustment is a big bonus.

Giant TCR Advanced 3

Bought this as I have recently returned to cycling and wanted my 1st carbon road bike. Not disappointed, as it go's really well and with pedals, drinks cage & computer it weighs in at 8.8kg. Shimano Tiagra groupset is ideal for an entry level rider like me.Great service as usual from Tredz and at a reduced price this bike was worth it. Can't wait to get a bit fitter on it to see what I can get out of it. May consider upgrading the wheels in the future to drop a bit more weight though.
