    rips like tussue paper

It may be waterproof, but it's extremely thin and delicate. It doesn't withstand any abuse. It maybe good for commuting. Would NOT recommend for MTB. Made a hole in it on my first ride.

Light as tissue paper, but waterproof!

When you first pick up this coat it feels like tissue paper, it's so thin and light! But I used it the other day in torrential rain and mud and it was 100% waterproof! It feels really well made, all the seams are fully welded and the pockets work well. Great product, a bit expensive, but it is worth it.

    Almost Unbelieving

I was in search of waterproof top layer for commuting; one I could wear all year round. The claims of the flux of 20,000mm waterproof and 30,000gms breathability is a big one. Certainly it is lightweight and appears breathable. Yesterday I was caught in an almighty downpour. I was skeptical as the rain wasn't beading off and some was just lying on the jacket. When home I checked inside, completely dry!! For a jacket this thin and packable to be as waterproof as it claims is some going. There are other good features, including 3 usable zipped pockets on the front and a nice ninja hood. The fit is also excellent, fitted but not constrictive (the four way stretch is a great help). There is some quirks, however, Id have taken a silicone band over an adjustable micro-hem at the waist, but that's a personal preference. The cuffs are not adjustable either. Finally, they have the madison logo in a sumptuous red reflective print, but there is just too little of it to be useful, I wish they had been a bit more liberal with it's use. Overall this is a top jacket, very wearable on and off the bike, with good waterproofing and good usability.
