The great thing about convertible jackets is they’re useful in almost every situation. Making them probably the perfect piece of training kit. The Aksium Convertible Jacket has a windproof soft shell made with Ride Wick Warm fabric that’s lovely and soft to the touch, warm and totally breathable thanks to a two and a half layer high-stretch membrane. Its versatility comes from the removable sleeves, which simply unzip when not needed, creating a windproof vest. And every detail is designed for riding: with a roomy but contoured fit, set-in sleeves, a fleece-lined Ergo collar, reflective piping, three back pockets and a zip chest pocket.

    Great value close fitting jacket

Arms are slightly too long on me, but better than too short. Torso is a good length, not too short or too long. I am 5'10" (1.8m) tall 38" (97cm) chest and I purchased a medium size. Overall the jacket is a close race fit. It seems to be well made and is a bit heavier/warmer than I thought it would be. I don't really care too much for the diagonal zip, as it means if you want to pull the zip down to let some air in you suddenly have quite a big piece of material flapping around in the breeze, although this is a minor issue. I do love the way that it converts into a gilet/vest, In this respect it works very well. Also it has nice close fitting and deep pockets on the rear. Overall great value and well made jacket.
