  Cycling keeps you healthy but only if you stay safe. Inexperience, the weather conditions on the roads and distracted or speeding drivers repre-sent an ever-present risk to the safety of cyclists, and causes a large number of accidents every year (10% of fatal accidents occur on urban roads). Most accidents (27%) occur between 4 pm and 8 pm when the effects of increased traffic due to commuters traveling home are com-bined with other factors, such as accumulated stress and poor visibility caused by fading natural light. Another factor to consider is the lack of cycle lanes and the necessary safety equipment. However, none of this should dampen your passion for a healthy bike ride. This is what Northwave had in mind when it developed the "Be Visible! Be Safe!" project.
