What are tyres and tubes?
Bike tyres are the rubber covering for your wheels, which makes contact with the ground. Inner tubes fit inside the tyres and are inflated with air.
Who needs tyres and tubes?
Every bike wheel needs tyres! There are tyres available for all disciplines of cycling in a range of shapes, sizes and colours. Spare inner tubes are ideal to carry around with you for an easy repair option in the event of a puncture. Unless you have tubeless tyres of course…
What are the choices?
From skinny tyres to wide, deep-tread winter tyres, the choice is vast. Tyre tread provides grip and can vary in design. Inner tubes are more straightforward – the main difference is either a Presta or Schrader valve. Tubeless tyres mean you’ll never get a puncture and are ideal for rugged road surfaces or those prone to mishaps.
What should I buy with them?
If in doubt, call us for advice if you’re not sure which tyres to go for. However, they are a cheap upgrade so you can try a few out before finding the perfect match.
