Our patented Twin Loc technology now offers simultaneous control of rear shock travel and fork lockout. The open position allows full travel, front and rear. One click switches the rear shock to Traction mode, while the fork remains fully active. Click again and rear shock and fork lock at the same time. The Equalizer2 features positive and negative adjustable air chambers, rebound adjustment and of course, Traction Control features. Because the shock is mounted vertically, it can react more efficiently than an angle-mounted shock. Found on Genius

The Genius also uses a revolutionary Isolated Axial Pivot (IAP) that allows for unlimited seat post adjustment and is very lightweight. Other designs with pivots on the seat tube have a limited range of seat adjustment because the pivot axle would normally stop the seat post from sliding in any further. With IAP, the pivots are isolated from each other and either side of the seat tube, and there is no through-pivot axle, so the weight normally associated with a pivot of that size is reduced. SCDS uses a carbon fiber dropout with a replaceable alloy hanger. A lightweight, precise and durable alloy disc brake mount improves heat distribution while braking. Carbon chain stays with integrated carbon dropout shave additional grams from the complete bike. Found on the Spark, Scale, Genius, full Addict road range

Our engineers have developed IMP, the newest technology applied to carbon production. The top tube, head tube and down tube are produced in a single step using a top-secret process. Our proprietary process allows for lighter construction by removing 11% of the material from the head tube intersection while increasing strength by utilizing high modulus HMF composite fibre, now in combination with our brand new HMX composite fibre. IMP also increases strength by utilizing high modulus stressed fibers with more precise fiber placement in critical areas. The result of this exclusive combination is a truly unique stiffness/weight ratio. Complimenting the IMP process, our frames benefit from our Naked External Tube set (NET) finish, which eliminates the cosmetic carbon layer to shave precious grams

While we already use the proven HMF composite fiber on all our composite high-end bike models, we have improved upon conventional HMF material. This new fiber, which is produced exclusively for Scott, offers 20% more stiffness and is employed on all the areas that need additional rigidity. This new material also allows us to reduce weight and improve riding characteristics. NET stands for Naked External Tube set; the frame sheds its exterior cosmetic layer, which saves even more weight. Found on the Scott Spark, Scale, Genius and Addict high end bikes

What is a Full Suspension Bike?
Theyre designed for a variety of off-road uses: cross-country, trail riding, free riding, downhill riding and north shore riding. They improve comfort, control and efficiency by keeping the wheels in contact with the trail more. This translates to a smoother, faster ride. Suspension travel can range widely with shorter travel more suited to cross-country and the longer travel for DH and Free ride. They can be referred to as FS, full suspension or dual suspension.
