    Useless...

These are meant to be all mountain, weatherproof shoes for use with flat pedals, but I get absolutely no grip whatsoever on my DMR Vaults, which from a staying on your bike perspective rules these for winter use on flat pedals. If they had the same compound as 5 10's then these would be a great buy, however that is not the case.

    Awesome

They're light and really comfy. I always think 510s look bulky so went for these instead and I'm pleased I did. They have good toe protection too and a flap to keep out twigs and splashes and of course they grip really well on the pedals.

    A good Flattie

This is my first purchase of a dedicated pair of MTB shoes and I'm really impressed. I have been riding for less than a year and during this time I have been using grippy walking shoes which although did the job, they were not built for cycling. After a bit of research I committed to these shoes. Firstly I would advise ordering up by half a size, I am a small 8 bordering 7 with wide feet. I ordered the 43 and they were very comfy from the off. Compared to my walking trainers these things grip really well, I run nukeproof evo flats that pair up really well. I have had the odd slip when hitting large bumps on the trail but to be fair it was extremely wet and muddy conditions. My first ride in these shoes was around 23 miles and by the end my feet were still very comfy with no sores or hot spots, they feel well made with enough padding. The lace cover works well and is not a struggle to seal. Once in place it's amazing how much wet muck it keeps out, inevitably the water found its way in and by the end of the ride my feet were wet and cold. Again being fair these shoes do not claim to be waterproof and the conditions were extreme. After the ride I left the shoes to dry, this took less than 24 hours, and then due to the construction, a quick wipe and they were ready to go again. There's limited affordable options out there for us fans of the flats, I've used these on a few rides now and have no regrets.
