Good pedals for commuting as you can choose to clip in or not whilst the flexibility of being able to use SPDs or noncycling shoes is great. Although these are labelled as a MTB pedal I use them on my road bike and they are perfect for what I need. As they are combine SPD mechanism with standard flat pedal they are a little heavy compared to other SPD clipped pedals but for me the flexibility they offer far outweighs this.

I bought these as an introduction to clipless pedals and used them for several years commuting on a MTB in all weathers. After a long break from cycling I have now fitted them to a new road bike. Other than requiring a clean they are still in perfect working condition. Though classed as MTB pedals they are more than adequate for use on a road bike with the added benefit of being compatible with noncycling shoes. Theyre not the cheapest pedals available but their longevity more than justifies the price.

Ok but clumsy

A heavy pedal, good for commuting as you can wear your spds and when needed normal shoes. Single sided clip means there not always easy to clip in to if you are used to dual sided pedals.
