Great kids fat bike with suspension and disc brakes.

We purchased this mountain bike for our 9-year old daughter who had out grown her 20" wheel bike. At £350 it was £100 more than we initially wanted to pay but the Riprock was the logical next step with it's 24" wheels, 8 gears, single ring at the front (so chain can't call off) and a low stand over frame (unisex) for easy step over and mounting. Bike will last her many years, I can ride it and I'm an adult! Seatpost adjustable up and down for height with just a small allen key. Light weight aluminium frame (won't rust) is beautifully made, smooth welds and paintwork is to a satisfactory standard. We chose the turquoise blue finish. Front suspension soaks up the worst bumps. Specialized bikes are popular so we will recoup the extra outlay come re-sale time. Gears are Shimano TX 1x8 set up with forged cranks, flat pedals and twist grip shifter (easy to change gear and better for smaller hands). Gear indicator window shows chosen gear. Wheels and are big comfortable 24" size with a fat 2.8" tyre. These are Specialized own fat tyres so spares will be easy to source if needed. Bike rides well on road and it is very stable off road. Gears change crisply. Bike stops quickly thanks to Tektro cable pull disc brakes and does not lose brake force in wet conditions unlike U-brakes. A surprisingly light weight bicycle considering the fat tyres wide handlebars and chunky frame. Tyre pressure can be run as low as 20psi and offer amazing grip. I'm glad we chose Tredz Store as the bike was inspected, assembled, set-up and ready to ride. Bicycle was delivered by Fed-Ex well packaged, undamaged and supplied with tools, signed technician's sheet, handbook and pedals. The free bicycle pump, water bottle, Tredz rucksack and Haribo sweets were a nice touch. Safety reflectors and bell included. Great service, thank you. My daughter loves it and all her friends want to ride it. All we had to add was a bicycle lock for school and some LED lights for night time riding and bought her the matching Specialized Shuffle helmet in turquoise for safety. Highly recommended bicycle.
