The trail eating Stumpjumper FSR Elite for 2016. This time with a brand new geometry for the new 27.5” wheel size and improved performance. Perfect for tearing up your local trail centre, the Stumpy can handle the most demanding technical trails.

Built from the ground up for 650b wheels, the head angle is slacker, with super short chainstays and 150mm of fork travel.

    New frame for 2016

The frame is a durable, lightweight and stiff M5 alloy construction for nimble handling and has been built to cater for the new 650b wheel size. A slacker 67 degree head angle (68 degree in 2015) provides stability at speed.

Short 420mm chainstays ensure the rear is nimble and the low bottom bracket height has been maintained for better handling in the corners. This dialled geometry balances uphill efficiency with downhill stability whilst being light and energetic.

Internal cable routing protects your cables from damage and requires less maintenance over time. It also keeps the frame aesthetic clean. A 12mm bolt through rear axle provides a stiffer rear end, and a 15mm axle on the fork makes for precision steering control.

The IRcc 125mm (100mm size small) command dropper post can be adjusted on the fly. You can set the right saddle height for the section of trail that you’re riding.

    RockShox Pike

Specialized’s FSR Elite comes with a RockShox Pike RC fork which is stiff, lightweight and plush. Ideal for taking on small and big hits. It’s one of the best performing forks on the market - especially at this price point.

    Fox Factory Shock

The Factory version of the FOX CTD shock is the same shock found on the Expert Carbon and S-works Stumpy. A boost valve for improved performance when the trails get rowdy is a definite plus, as is the Kashima coating for a slicker feel...and better durability.

    FSR

The ‘FSR’ part of this bike’s name stands for the rear suspension system.  This 4 bar linkage with a second pivot on the chainstay near the rear axle is one of the most effective suspension systems on an MTB. It allows the rear wheel to move on a linear path so chain tension isn’t affected and you don’t get pedal kickback or bob. This is ideal for climbing and descending.

Fully sealed cartridge bearings on all pivot points are smooth and easy to service. RX trail tune on the rear suss means that every shock has the volume, compression and rebound range tuned for each Stumpy. You don’t get this from every manufacturer.

    SRAM 1x11

The high quality frame and suspension system is matched with optimised spec. SRAM’s X1 1x11 speed drivetrain offers a wide gear range in a lightweight, simple and ultra reliable package. It’s good to see such a setup on a full-suss MTB at this price point.

Shimano SLX hydraulic disc brakes offer great modulation and are extremely reliable. Braking power is impressive.

Roval Traverse wheels with a 29mm rim width are ready for aggressive trail riding on technical sections. You get a full Roval Traverse wheelset including hubs. They’re tubeless ready for a smoother, faster and easier ride - and no pinch flats.

The Stumpjumper FSR Elite (650b) is a powerful long travel trail bike, ready to carve up a trail centre.

    Stunning trail performance

I am amazed at how fast this new Stumpy is. I've been riding 26" until now and the extra speed of the 650b wheels was imediately noticable. It took me a couple of rides to get used to the handling characteristics but still I got PRs on my first outing without even trying. The spec is spot on and there is nothing I feel I want to swap out, like I usually do with new bikes. Tubeless set up was a breeze. The rims are already taped so all I needed to do was put in new the valves that came supplied. I havn't seen a performance gain like this with one of my bikes since my mk2 enduro. All in all I couldn't be happier.
