Carbon frame and fork
The Tarmac comes with one of the most advanced and refined road race composite frames on the market. The FACT 10r frame is ultra strong and stiff, whilst being lightweight for race winning handling and acceleration. This low weight is achieved through using a greater proportion of higher modulus fibres in the frame.
Oversized top and down tubes wrap around the headtube eliminating any potential weak spots in the frame. This combined with a tapered headtube improves your steering response due to a stiffer frame and fork junction.
The oversized bottom bracket and chainstays are molded together as one unit to be super stiff and resist deflection under load. Acceleration improves as more of your power is being transferred directly to the drivetrain.
The Expert comes with a FACT full carbon fork which provides incredible front end stiffness and scalpel like steering precision.
Rider-First Engineered
Every frame size has been individually engineered, so no matter your size you’ll get the same ride experience. Smaller riders benefit from a lighter and more balanced bikes, with improved handling in the corners. Larger riders benefit from a marked increase in steering response.
Testing and development of Rider-First engineering is carried out in partnership with McLaren F1.
Ultegra drivetrain
Equipped is a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed groupset, including brakes and FSA SL-K Light semi compact cranks. This is just one step down from pro level componentry and is supremely lightweight and tough with slick shifting.
Hydraulic disc brakes
The Expert Disc Race comes with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for powerful and reliable braking in all weather conditions. Disc brakes open up the Tarmac as a year round training steed.
Roval Rapide CL40 disc wheels come with aero optimised rim profiles to slice through the air. They are a perfect balance of low weight and aero performance.
