TRP’s engineers had these concepts in mind when designing the T925 Brake System. The front and rear brakes use a “U” style configuration with asymmetrical caliper arms pivoting on a center carrier designed to be mounted behind the front fork legs and seat stay bridge.
Side-pull cable routing ensures that steering is unobstructed while giving a smooth cable path for a light feel at the lever. From Ironman to Pro-Tour TT, the T925 braking system is the edge you're looking for.
The T925.1R Shares all the features of the T925R with the addition of the extended cable noodle clip on the left side of the brake (right arm). This allows the cable noodle to be drawn closer to the frame in case of any rubbing issues with the crank.
T925.1R can be used as a front brake mounted in the front or forward position of the fork. A longer 38mm center bolt is required. Look in the small parts section for the 38mm center bolt.
What are brakes?
We all know they’re what make your bike stop, but you get different types for different bikes, each with their own advantages.
Who needs brakes?
Anyone with a bike. Although having said that, some fixed wheel bikes don’t actually have a brake, just the resistance of the fixed wheel to slow them down. You should still fit a separate front brake for riding on the road though.
What are the choices?
You need the right brakes for your bike, whether that’s disc brakes or rim brakes. Each will have specific fittings on the frame and different types of wheels, so you can’t just mix and match. Disc brakes can be mechanical or hydraulic. Rim brakes can be single or dual pivot caliper brakes. You can even get coaster brakes and hydraulic rim brakes as more unusual choices.
What should I buy with them?
At some point you’ll need to buy replacement brake pads for your brakes. Might as well stock up with spares when you buy your new stoppers.
Brakes are incredibly important for safety – make sure you buy the right sort and set them up properly. Also, if you have rim brakes, check the braking surface of your wheel rim hasn’t been worn dangerously thin.
