    Thule Chariot Chinook One

Thule Chariot Chinook 1 Hopefully in a Logical Order Delivery. Arrived forwarded from Tredz in a brown box wrapped up in brown paper. Tredz must have paid delivery as the paper was unmarked. However, it hid a box beneath that had been delivered to and sent on to Tredz by Madison (the importers) this looked like a gruffalo had mauled it. With holes, rips and tears on every side. Opened the box and apart from some plastic stress marks on the mudguards (white creases) overall it’s undamaged. However, returning items to Tredz you have to pay, and I’m not so they have to suffer here in my review. Setup. Simple, easy for any guy to not both reading the instructions and in mean moments you are pumping up the tyres and pushing it around. Putting your child in takes slightly more care but it’s no difference to any car seat or stroller. Review. The Urban Stroller is outstanding, I have had a Burley D’Lite (Double) for about 6 months, this is good, but the Chinook 1 is so much better but then its cost is more, but you can see what you are getting. The front wheel having the 3 positions makes it simple to transition from bike to jogger to stroller, no taking off wheels and then getting other wheels to fix or store it’s right there. Also the cycle attachment clips on the outside so again remains with the stroller. The seat has 4 bolsters, with our child in the Burley, after a while she will fall asleep and her head will rock, it has concerned me slightly, but no more will it happen with the Chinook 1. The seat can also be reclined, not much, but enough to keep her head from falling forward, this has always been a major concern for me. The sides can be opened to allow fresh air to circulate, something that the Burley doesn’t allow you to do and with the lovely weather we are experiencing (rain) you can have the waterproof cover on and it doesn’t steam up and turn into a sauna inside. The flag has a more simple fitting but it works as opposed to the sticking out behind or falling out. It also comes with a car seat adapter, I’ve not tried this, as our child sits inside. There is a bag that attaches to the rear that can swallow even my wife’s version of a baby changing bag with multiple outfit changes and if you don’t have the bag attached there is a mesh pocket that is available to use individually or simultaneously. Handle is multipositional so if parents are different heights you shouldn’t struggle but when cycling this has to be folded forward and creates even more or a roll cage effect to protect the precious cargo. The suspension seems more supple however, I only put enough air in the tyres to hold shape and this provides the initial shock absorption, but it seems stable the mudguards could do with moving outboard slightly but they incorporate the reflectors. Final bit, I feel there are two pieces that thule need to manufacture, one a complete waterproof cover so when we take camping or leave outside a lodge we can keep under cover. A bag for it that protects and keeps everything together, I have commissioned one to be made for myself. Overall. So as you can see I really rate it. The single version is really good it works in town and out behind cycle or walked and taken for a jog, it’s not cheap but if you buy at the right time there are always deals available
