Perfect for any MTB the Topeak Defender FX front mudguard will keep your face, eyes and mouth clear of dirt and spray - thanks to the wide profile. The Defender FX is constructed from very durable injection molded plastic which can take the abuse of all-weather, daily riding. The front fender can be installed and removed in seconds with a quick release feature. This is ideal for when you no longer need to ride with a mudguard.

    Topeak Defender FX Front Mudguard

This mudguard is of sturdy construction. It is made of a very suitable material, which in my opinion is not susceptible to cracks and breakages. At first it was tricky to attach, but this has more to do with the bicycle than the product itself. The mudguard's sides protects the rider from outward splashes of water and mud. A lot of mudguards on the market are curved in profile, and do not deflect debris effectively. The Defender FX has a tough and robust appearance, and you can see it does the job just from looking at it. All in all, this is an excellent mudguard, and I am unaware of anything negative about mine.

    Protects but attachment is Poor.

This mud guard fixes to the underside of the forks with a screw in fixture that expands. However this fixture is of poor build quality. I tighten it but it never feels tight subsequently it reaches a point where a piece of the fixture snaps and then its useless! I have therefore resorted to using cable ties to fix the mounting bracket to my bike. Nonetheless once its on the bike the mud guard protects you from spray and dirt. Overall it does half the job.
