Our Philosophy
First, to get outside. Second, help others get outside. (Well if you lived here you'd help yourself first too).
Tredz is based in South Wales, a region that spoils its cyclists.
Without wanting to make you too jealous, we all live happily in the knowledge that within minutes of finishing work at our Cardiff and Swansea bases, we can go out and ride in some world class conditions.
We're local to Afan Forest Park (aka Afan Argoed), Cwmcarn and Glyncorrwg. Afan was the only UK trail destination to feature in What Mountain Bike Magazine as one of the ten best places to ride 'before you die'. And we're just a drive away from Llanwrtyd Wells and Nant yr Arian.
Not to mention the untapped national parks, areas of outstanding natural beauty and miles of long winding bike friendly roads.
This environment naturally creates (and attracts) some pretty dedicated riders.
We've got employees that commute by bicycle over eighty miles a day, Commonwealth Medal winners and fair-weather weekend warriors on our payroll. We're cyclists with a broad range of experience including cross-country, DH, triathlon, BMX and commuting. This means that we require very different things from our bikes and that our range loyalties are very wide reaching.
It's not all about bikes though, one of the team rowed to a silver medal in the Commonwealth Games and our warehouse manager has run three marathons: Paris, Cardiff and Rotterdam, inside 12 months. It's just mostly about bikes.
Other activities we're involved in
We don't just compete in events that take our fancy; we also do our utmost to support events and people that match our culture. The Dragon Ride, the Xterra UK Triathlon and the Downtown Race are just some of the events that we felt we had to get involved with, whilst our sponsored riders include Jody Cundy, a swimming and cycling multiple World Champion and downhill favourite Julian Poffley.
Tredzblog is used for news and lets us express our thoughts and we promote the Cycle to Work scheme to bring cycling to as wide a public as possible.
Our bike shops
Dedicated riders tend to demand high quality bike shops.
We've been running three of the region's best since 1985. That adds up to over 20 years of bike retailing experience at our disposal, proudly distilled right into our stores in Cardiff,
Swansea and online.
Collectively we'd like to think that we know what makes a good bike product and we've scoured the best brands available in the UK, suppliers like Giant, Specialized and Kona, to come up with products that we appreciate, at competitive prices that we're sure you will.
We're cyclists who are into the same stuff you are but, equally, we're (on the whole) regular people who want to make your shopping experience as straightforward and hassle free as we'd hope for ourselves.
We're human beings, so while we're not perfect, you have our word that we will try everything we can to make you're dealings with us pleasurable. We are as proud of our high level of customer care as of the quality of products we sell.
A prime example of this? It's as easy to return items with us as it is to buy them.
