Competition Level: International Elite U23/Senior
Bikes: Race Bike - Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0, Training bike - Giant Defy
Why the Giant TCR? It's lightweight, stiff and quick to accelerate. For me the importance of great steering and handing are important qualities for the technical courses on the elite drafting Triathlon circuit. Along with the excellent steering and handing, it also offers super-efficient acceleration, essential when you need to respond to accelerations to either get away from or stay in the peloton. This is why I chose to race on the Giant TCR Advanced 1 when racing in the Elite Triathlon races.
From his first race in the Llanelli Children’s Duathlon to competing in the 2014 Commonwealth games Liam has been dedicated to improving his performance. Currently Liam is training with the Leeds triathlon centre which is the most successful tri centre in the World.
“I regularly see Alistair and Jonny Brownlee at swim training and sometimes head out for a long ride on the weekends with them and a group of the high performance squad. Among a very successful high performance British Triathlon athlete program there is also an equally successful University squad in which I do a lot of my training with including easy runs, easy rides and gym work. The University Triathlon Squad for The University of Leeds has topped the BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) for points gained over the year at various BUCS for 3 years, making the team of athletes the most successful team in University sport in Great Britain.”

Competing in the 2014 Commonwealth Games
“I want to reach my full potential in all three disciplines over the next two years by the age of 24. Next year I will set my targets in what my team and I believe is best for the 2017 season; selection on to the 2018 Commonwealth Games team will be a main focus. Following this I have aspirations to compete at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.”
Well it’s been a good amount of time now since I finished my 2015 season back in September. I’ve defiantly had some nice time off to reminisce on all the racing, travelling and success of 2015 including my British Standard distance Elite Championship Title and a Silver medal at the British Sprint distance Championship
