Assistant Store Manager (Tredz Swansea)

Salary: dependant on experience.

We're recruiting for a friendly, confident and consultative leader to join our team at Tredz in Swansea.

We're looking to hire quickly so please don't hesitate to apply if you're interested.

Working front of house, you’ll lead the tredz team in all day to day operational duties, ensuring excellent customer service and creating a great environment for customers and staff alike. Previous knowledge of cycling and bikes is advantageous but not necessary as full training will be given.

Core Purpose:

  • To Assist the Store Manager to provide a customer focused viable retail service that delivers increased sales and profit.
  • To ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.
  • Maintain excellent service and standards.
  • Improve efficiencies of the trading operation to maximise revenue.
  • To market the retail stores to drive footfall into the store and improve brand recognition.
  • Personnel feel they are well supported in their job function and enjoy their work.

Responsible to:

Responsible for:

To ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.

  • To understand the trading figures within the store. Share information in order to influence buying, pricing and merchandising.
  • To implement the Company pricing policy to ensure the target gross profit is attained for each product group.
  • To review the current stock levels in the store to ensure the maximum availability is maintained at all times.
  • To execute a merchandising process in the stores to ensure the product is shown in its best light and sales are maximised.
  • Work with suppliers and support staff to maximise profit and the visual aspects of the retail stores.
  • To ensure the replenishment process is completed in a timely manner to ensure maximum in store availability at all times.
  • To manage the day-to-day activities within the store to include, daily huddle, delivering the “big 4” and filling activities.
  • To ensure that store staff are productive throughout the working day.

Maintain excellent service and standards.

  • Effective management of the Store staff to ensure customers are served to an excellent standard of customer service on every visit.
  • To ensure all sales staff are focused on the key service priorities, to include the use of the HAND and WATCH processes.
  • To be the champion of all staff training for the year to include all aspects of personal development as well as the associated safety training and also to ensure that the detailed recording is updated as required.
  • To ensure that all areas of Health and Safety policy are adhered to and that any concerns are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Improve efficiencies of the trading operation to maximise revenue.
  • To assist in the delivery of the development plan of the stores to ensure that the budget and revenue targets are met and appropriate plans are in place for the long-term development of the retail environment.
  • To maintain the point of sale system to ensure accurate recording of the stock throughput and stock levels. Monitor and coach the store team to improve this as required.
  • To assist in the preparation and completion of stock takes and assist in the delivery of any appropriate action as a result of the financial reports.
  • To ensure that all cash handling procedures are followed correctly by the store Staff and highlight any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  • To ensure all stock is correctly priced and ticketed.
  • To ensure timely reporting of weekly figures to the Area manager.
  • Review the operations of local competitors and ensure the stores react to gain customer loyalty.
  • Ensure that the store is opened on time and as required for the trading and work pattern in the Store Managers absence or discretion.

To market the retail stores to drive footfall into the store and improve brand recognition.

  • To build links with local cycle clubs and businesses with the development of the Cycle Club and Corporate Club schemes.
  • To develop the Cycle 2 Work schemes with the stores and with businesses within the local areas through gaining contacts with the store customers.
  • To give content and assist in the timely and effective use of the fortnightly newsletter to communicate with our customer base.
  • To develop relationships with local authority groups action groups and charities to build the brand in the local community.
  • Attend, where necessary promotional and marketing opportunities on the companies behalf.

Personnel

  • To give feedback to the Store Manager on Staff 1 to 1’s in a timely manner and always reflect data based feedback and a two way communication process.
  • Staff and self are dressed for service at all times.
  • Staff are communicated to on a daily basis, regarding store performance and daily expectations.
  • Staff feel trusted and respected and part of a company they enjoy working in and wish to build a career in.
  • Staff are well trained and this training is documented.
  • To cover the Store Managers job role and functions in their absence.
