We're always on the hunt for kick-ass, smart, passionate people who don't look at their watch all day, praying for home time.
If you’re proactive with ideas and you want to make a difference to customers, we'd love to hear from you.
If you want to join a gang of like-minded folks doing stuff, either online or in store, to make cyclists happy, then drop us a line (CV, letter, whatever) at firstname.lastname@example.org. We won't sell your data but we might just put you to work...
Specific openings at present:
We're on the look out for a new Head of Retail. Others would call this job their Retail Operations Manager or Area Manager, we're not precious about titles as long as you can do the job.
With overall responsibility for our three stores the role breaks down to:
Customer Service - This is always our top priority. You’ll be passionate about customers first and profit last. We are in the service business, one that happens to sell cycling products
Merchandising - You’ll have a flair for making the store look appealing and an eye for detail. Misplaced signage written in Times New Roman would keep you awake at night.
Marketing - You understand that simply opening the doors and expecting a flood of customers isn’t a reality. You’ll have the wherewithal to start your own initiatives locally and see these to fruition.
Team Management & Development - You can’t serve all customers in all stores all week so you need to orchestrate others. Strong communication skills are necessary to help others around you improve.
Organisation & Admin - Whilst you’re not necessarily an IT whiz kid, you’re capable in Excel and Word and organising others isn’t alien to you e.g. staff rotas, incentive schemes. The thought of being accountable for others’ time is something that appeals to you.
This isn’t a role about controlling the supply chain, or negotiation with suppliers – those duties are covered elsewhere in the company. I.T. and our wider infrastructure are also taken care of by others, allowing you more uninterrupted time to benefit our customers.
You’ll have the initiative, commitment and personality to lead a growing team with large ambitions. You may have done this in the past or perhaps sat underneath such a manager and, having learnt a lot, want your own day in the sun.
An understanding of the limitations of small business (we don’t have Tescos’ budgets) and a hunger to continue our growth is necessary.
Strong talent and a great attitude trump qualifications and a perfectly formatted CV in our eyes, but make no mistake this is a big and challenging role in a friendly but busy business.
We need a leader here to take on the full responsibly of customers, staff and stock – this needs far more than clever words on a CV (although clever is perfectly acceptable).
If this sounds like your perfect job, then drop us a line (CV, letter, whatever) at email@example.com
