Product Description

An experienced bike technician designs Axioms complete line of racks.
Made from superior quality steel or aluminum, these racks are exceptionally strong, remarkably lightweight and built to last a lifetime. Axiom racks offer a sturdy, lightweight solution that delivers excellent heel clearance and convenient adjustability and they are quick and easy to mount to just about any bicycle. As cyclists everywhere look to do increasingly more with their bikes, Axiom racks are there to carry the load.
Journey Uni-Fit Series
Journey Uni-Fit series racks are designed to fill that middle ground between the ultra-sleek Streamliner series and the robust Journey series. These racks are engineered to be lightweight, yet they will handle the heaviest loads and are built to last forever. They come with two sets of feet that offer variable setback and full up/down adjustability, so they are compatible with an extraordinarily wide range of bicycle frame sizes and geometry types. Journey Uni-Fit racks mount easily to a wheels quick-release skewer or via traditional eyelets. Whatever the bike, Axiom racks fit.

Key Features:
  • Hand (Double) welded 10mm Tubular 6061 T6 Aluminum
  • Epoxy powder coated for long-term durability
  • Patent Pending Uni-Fit modular foot design gives adjustable setback, and adjustable height
  • Designed to fit disc-equipped bicycles, bicycles without eyelets, road bikes and traditional bicycles
  • Additional 3rd rear support stay and low mount bar gives additional support for bags, and allows load to be mounted lower and further back if needed
  • Dual mounting bracket options for center caliper/fender bridge mount, or traditional dual eyelet mount
  • Extra-long 280mm alloy Versalock mounting arms adjust to fit all frame sizes and offer additional mounting options
  • Extruded top plate is ideal for trunk bags, and helps to keep load dry
  • Frame mounting bolts included
  • Reflector bracket included
  • Fits 26, 27, 28, 700C, 650B, 29 Inch
  • Mounts to rear QR axle skewer, or to traditional eyelets

Good design

I bought this to fit to a 2009 Boardman HT I was building as a winter commuting bike. The rack itself is very light, but the steel bar with single attachment point is heavy; the price you pay for strength I guess. The adaptor plates are a great idea, as they allowed me to fit the rack to the bike perfectly horizontally. The issue I had was the quality of supplied allen bolts. Undoing them to change the adaptor plate holes saw two of them trashed. I think they had been over-torqued and the quality of the material used in their construction was poor. I managed to undo one (the thread was mangled), but ended up using a hacksaw to cut the other one off. I was going to replace them with marine-grade allen bolts (cheap from ebay) anyway, so it wasn't an issue. I like that you can fit a light to the rear of the rack, but check which one, as the one I bought didn't fit. Nothing araldite couldn't fix. Overall, good design, but a bit more quality control required.

Won't fit 29er

After my review below of the streamliner 29er my bike and was stolen , unable to find that rack again I bought this model . It's left me high and dry just a few weeks before my holidays I find this model will not fit a 29er . Using either of the fitting plates it just won't fit my ordinary giant 29er mtb using the spindle skewer mount . The angles are wrong , there isn't enough height to clear the tyre . Probably fine on a 700c or smaller bike but the designers clearly didn't measure a 29er mtb . Such a shame considering the streamliner 29er rack was so good but is now not available

Great rack

Last year We used 2of the axiom 29er racks fitted to 29 er hardtails They performed very well and fitted perfectly sadly both bikes were stolen so to replace for this year it seems this is the rack that replaces the 29er version It has what looks like an even better bottom fixing bracket than before and also seems a little heavier and more rigid although I can't be sure The fitting is the best part of these racks the top fittings are much better than the flat steel type brackets other racks have and getting the fit just right and neat is easy The rear set lower brackets clear rear discs and also offer choices of spindle or bolt mount Other racks use a stand off bracket that I have seen sheer off So imo these are the best racks made and one of the best value too

Nice bit of kit but...

...It doesn't fit. Unfortunately the extra width added to the frame means the skewer isn't long enough and i've had to buy a longer one. Couldn't find one anywhere but luckily managed to buy one meant for a tandem that is ok. The Rear mech gets in the way of part of it so ive had to hacksaw a bit off!! Next i don't have eyelets under the seat either on the tubes or fender. Ive found and bought a seat post clamp that also has eyelets, it hasn't arrived yet but i'm hoping when it does i can at last fit it!

Axiom Uni 3 pannier rack

This rack works perfectly in getting pannier bags back from my big feet. Fitting options provide very good flexibity. And a good price.

Bike Racks Guide

What is a bike rack?

A bike rack is a great way of carrying your luggage around on your bike, making them perfect for commuting, touring or family adventures. The rack fits securely to your bike, eliminating the need for a rucksack to burden your back. Racks are easily fitted and removed, so they don’t have to stay in place all the time.

Who needs a bike rack?

Anyone who carries luggage. Whether you’re cycling to work, sightseeing or having a few days away, bike racks are ideal for bearing the brunt of the load. A bike rack is also a great idea for those who suffer from back pain or that find rucksacks uncomfortable.

What are the choices?

There are two locations for bike racks, at the front and rear of your bike. Both can be used to carry luggage. Choose from strong, durable material that is as light as possible. You’ll also need to check that the rack will fit to your bike without getting in the way of any of the components.

What should I buy with it?

The choice of accompanying baggage is endless. Pick from a small, compact bag for occasional jaunts, double panniers for a weekend away or multi-compartment bag to keep yourself organised.

Anything else?

Check the load capacity of your rack – you don’t want to set off and leave a trail of spilt luggage in your wake. Or worse, damage your bike because you’ve packed everything AND the kitchen sink.
