If you’re serious about racing cyclocross this winter then the CXR 9.0 is designed to offer elite level performance without a pro level price tag. The CXR 9.0 uses our high modulus C10 carbon fibre CXR frame and fork with a SRAM Apex 1 groupset. Refined with feedback from Elite CX racers, the CXR frame and fork deliver an efficient but smooth ride with plenty of mud clearance and fast but predictable handling.

The CXR Elite Five wheels and 33mm Clement MXP tyres will run tubeless with a dash of sealant, allowing much lower tyre pressures for better grip without the risk of punctures. SRAM Apex hydraulic disc brakes offer powerful braking with great modulation, meaning you can push hard in every corner knowing you can keep things under control if things get slippery.

The Boardman CXR 9 Series range builds on our 2017 National Trophy winning bikes, using elite athlete feedback to deliver a truly focussed Cyclocross racing machine. We’ve increased tyre clearances to combat clogging mud, even on the stickiest courses, and introduced a brand new fork to improve handling in tight corners.

We spent countless hours of R&D time tailoring the CXR range to suit the demands of riding fast over mixed terrain. The 9 Series CXR models use Boardman’s high modulus C10 carbon to ensure the best balance of weight, stiffness and compliance.

Single chainring 1X drivetrains with clutched rear derailleurs throughout the range also reduce complexity and ensure minimal dropped chains. Combining all of this with tubeless ready wheels and tyres mean that the CXR 9 Series bikes are ready to race straight out of the box.

The CXR range has been designed to be ridden hard and fast across almost any terrain. We have combined slim, wishbone seat stays and oversized, box section chainstays to give a perfect blend of comfort, control and efficiency.

The interface between the fork and the headtube is responsible for transmitting all of your steering inputs into your wheels, so is a key component in giving you confidence in your bike's handling.

We use an oversized 1-1/2" lower headset bearing to allow a smoother flow of fibres from the fork crown into the steerer tube, increasing both stiffness and durability of the fork. This translates into better steering feel and control, helping you navigate through deep rutted mud or dodge potholes on your way into work.

When riding off-road, you need power and control from your brakes. The hydraulic disc brakes throughout the CXR range offer huge amounts of braking force, which you can control with just a single finger, meaning you can adjust how much braking power you are using in a fraction of a second. This lets you fully exploit the grip available from your tyres to bring you to a stop in as quick a time as possible.

When this is combined with thru axles, which securely lock your wheels into the dropouts, the result is outstanding braking and steering, perfect for slaloming through the trees or sliding through the mud.

The Boardman CXR Elite wheels are tubeless ready and come fitted with rim tape out of the box. With the tubeless ready Clement tyres already fitted, all you need to do is add sealant and inflate. Removing tubes from your tyres eliminates the risk of pinch flats, allowing you to run lower pressures for improved grip, and the sealant should stop any punctures before your tyre deflates.
