No more sweaty backs

Superb alternative to a back pack, perfect for local rides and day trips alike. It’s really comfortable around the waist, has enough space for a W aterproof, phone, tube, links, levers, CO2 canisters and a few snacks. The bladder is large enough for 2-3 hour rides, but that would depend on how hot it is outside. The bladder seems top quality and the tube is held in place with a magnet and holder which goes back into place easily. The magnet comes with warnings about it damaging sensitive electronics, so it’s probably best kept away from the phone. Overall a great product which will see me leaving my backpacks at home except for the longer, more isolated rides when I would take food for the day and a pump.

Camelbak Repack LR 2018

I was looking for an option other than a back pack to carry tools, inner tubes, food, phone and of course water, I wasn't disappointed with the Camelbak Repack. Quality made item and fits all the above with ease with room to spare. The weight distribution is spot on and you barley notice it. The pack does not move as long as the straps are snug, tight that is. Difference it makes when riding is unbelievable as you do not feel restricted and your shoulders/back can move more easily. Wish I purchased one earlier. There was a bit of a wait with delivery but I was made aware of this by Tredz who kept me up to date with dispatch times etc. 10/10 go and buy one 👍

Highly recommend

The pack is brilliant for getting the weight down low with plenty of storage. The pack does not slip down at all and is very easy to clean after a wet muddy ride. Would recommend this product.

Great product

This is just what I’ve been after for a while now. As someone who doesn’t like wearing a pack whilst out MTBing but often in need of more than the one bottle of water that a full suspension bike can carry this is just the ticket. It’s a tight fit but certainly not uncomfortable and as long as you don’t over fill it with too much weight then it works perfectly. The side pockets are a great idea, very easy to get to mid ride essentials like gels, bars, phone etc.

Hydration Packs Guide

Do I need a hydration backpack?

If you ride your mountain bike on off-road trails, then you will want to take some fluid with you. While many MTBs have bottle cages if you want more than 750ml of then you will need a hydration backpack. They are also useful for carrying extra clothing, tools and food.

How much fluid can I carry?

Hydration backpacks are supplied with a 1.5, 2 or 3 litre bladder to carry fluid. A larger bladder will enable you to choose how much you carry with you on specific rides as you don’t need to use the whole capacity. A hose with a mouthpiece and tap allows you to drink while you ride.

How much kit can I carry in a hydration backpack?

This very much depends on the model - a classic CamelBak will only have room for a trail tool and thin layer while an alpine style pack will have room for tools, spares, food waterproofs and post ride clothing. In addition to this some hydration packs have compression straps that allow you to vary the capacity and carry straps for carrying extra kit, like body armour.

What size hydration pack do I need?

This will depend on the type and length of ride.

  • Up to 5 litres – short rides with minimal kit
  • 6–12 litres – all day rides carrying extra layers, food and trail tools
  • 13-25 litres – all day and multi-day rides carrying extra layers, food, tools, spares and post ride clothing

Can I ride technical terrain with a hydration pack?

While all our hydration packs are designed for serious off-roading some are more suited to riding steep technical terrain. Look for a pack with a horizontal or lumbar bladder and a substantial waist strap for riding more challenging, enduro style trails. as these offer a lower centre of gravity for increased stability.

Can I use a hydration pack for commuting?

Many hydration packs feature reflective strips and a tab for a rear light so make a great commuting packs too.

Are the hydration bladders easy to clean?

Yes, hydration pack bladders tend to have a wide opening so you can easily get your hand inside to give them a good clean.
