Product description

Quick, comfortable and confidence inspiring the Cannondale Synapse Disc Tiagra 6 is a lightweight endurance road bike that is perfect for long rides, sportives and is versatile enough for commuting.

Endurance geometry

Whether you are pounding out the miles on a long distance epic or flying round your local training loop it is important that you are comfortable in the saddle, so that you perform at your best until you reach your destination. With taper butted tubes, the lightweight 6061 alloy frame features a taller head tube for a more upright riding position and longer wheelbase with slightly slacker head angle for confident, stable handling.

Subtle rack and mudguard mounts add to the Synapses versatility.

Micro-suspension

The flattened profile of the seat and chainstays allow a little vertical flex while maintaining horizontal stiffness. This allows the bike to absorb shock from riding over rough road surfaces without compromising pedaling efficiency or handling.

Carbon fork

The fork also has directional compliance built in that complements that of the rear end for a stable balanced ride. Steering is precise while the carbon fibres also help to absorb road buzz.

Disc brakes

The main advantage of disc brakes is their consistent performance in the wet as well as the dry so that you can control your speed with confidence whatever the weather.

Shimano Tiagra

New for 2016 the Tiagra groupset has had a makeover and now features hidden cables and redesigned hoods that offer a similar look and feel to the more expensive 105 range. The 2x10 speed drivetrain features a wide range cassette and compact cranks so that you can take  all the climbs and descents on your route in your stride.

The Cannondale Synapse Tiagra Disc 6 is a versatile road bike that is built for endurance but offers its benefits whatever distance you are riding.

Poor service

Bought this bike as a winter/commuter bike. At first the service from Tredz was first class, the bike was ready and available in no time and they were courteous when organising delivery. A couple of days after the bike arrived I noticed some damage to the forks. I emailed some pics which got passed to 2 different teams. Whilst waiting for a response the left (front) shifter stopped working and the left crank arm started to make a terrible creaking noise. Tired of waiting for them to get back to me I had to contact them via live chat to chase the initial email and inform them of the additional problems. I was asked to send further pics. After sending the pics and waiting a few days again I had to contact them on live chat where they organised for the bike to be collected. Bike was collected on Fri - I didn't hear anything (again) to say if they'd received the bike or what they were going to do (inspect, repair/replace etc). Late Wednesday I received an email to say the replacement bike had been sent. They hadn't been in contact to try and organise a convenient day or place for delivery so this meant no one being home. There was no convenient option for re-delivery (on TNT's website) other than collecting in person. However the box the bike was originally delivered in would be too big for my car so in the end decided to return the bike to tredz for a refund. Can't comment on the bike as it was only fit for a few days riding, but the service from Tredz was severely lacking. This played as a big part in returning the bike as the thought of further problems and having to deal with them again filled me with dread. This is the first time I'd used them and in all honesty won't be rushing back.

Wow...

First road bike after 21 years of mountain biking, so using this as a fitness bike. I did lots of research before seeing this and knew that the Synapse was the one to get. Evans had one so I had a shot on it and it felt great - but Tredz were £40 cheaper and a had a better finance deal, so I bought from them. Delivery was problematic - I was called and agreed on a date for delivery due to working shifts, but the bike arrived 3 days early and my elderly neighbour had to take it in and then carted it round to my house!! - not ideal Tredz...try and stick to an agreement on deliveries! The bike feels fab - very light and responsive and very comfortable and the Tiagra groupset is very good too. The colour should be described as "Fluorescent Red" because it's the same colour as a traffic cone - it's not just a simple red - and it has drawn several positive comments from others who've seen it. It came fully setup and was ready to go within 20 mins - there are a set of Wellgo pedals and toe clips/straps provided too. They also thoughtfully supplied a multi-tool and a 15mm spanner in a Tredz branded bag that would be ideal for use for a days cycling. The 2 packets of Haribo's were an unusual treat too!! Finally the price. With the new 2017 model coming in at £950, and with nothing different to this apart from the colour, I feel I have a bit of a bargain at £680. Thank you Tredz - I will be back again!...
