Good bright light

Very happy with this. A good selection of settings and i have settled on the low flash which should last several hours and is still excellent as a daytime light. Pro's: Good in daylight, quick charge, lightweight, when turned on automatically restarts on setting that it was last on. Negs: Slightly difficult to fit to my D profile seat post but was fine will be easy on round posts. Due to angle of seat post the light is angled slightly down and can't be adjusted but not an issue for me. ** regarding the review about the charging port my seems fine. The rubber bung fits well and to avoid spray from the wheels i fitted mine port side up.

Flooded on first ride.

Such a shame as this light show such promise out of the box. I wanted a super bright all weather light to help protect me in all weathers, especially fog.. the 150 lumen claim only has an hour run time so pointless any of my riding, but the flashing models are dazzling. Fits well on aero kit. The problem is the usb port is totally unsealed, large open gaps around it and even the port has holes in it.. This exposes the whole of the internals.. The rubber boot cover is very weak and road vibration works it open exposing the port.. If you use mudguards etc, probably would be ok, and definitely remove it hose the bike off. My one flooded with water after an hour on wet roads and died.. Thankfully I always run 2 rear lights as they are a safety critical piece of kit for pre dawn and night rides...

Bike Lights Guide

What are bike lights?

Bike lights are vital accessories which attach to your handlebars, seatpost, helmet, bag or jersey. Their function is simple – to help you to see and be seen.

Who needs bike lights?

Everyone needs bike lights! It’s a legal requirement to use front and rear lights on your bike between sunset and sunrise, but they are also useful when visibility is poor – in the fog for example.

What are the choices?

Light technology is ever evolving and the choice is enormous. Always think “the brighter the better” and look for a higher lumen output when choosing. There are lights that run on batteries or beams which can be recharged via plug or a handy USB socket (great for topping up at work). Some lights have battery packs and most have a selection of modes to choose from. You’ll definitely need the brightest lights if you ride wooded trails as you’ll really need to see where you’re going!

What should I buy with them?

Spare batteries are handy if your bike runs on these, as is a charger if it’s rechargeable. Spare mounts are always useful, especially if you have more than one bike. A helmet mount points the beam where you’re looking, rather than the direction your bike is pointing.

Anything else?

Don’t get caught out – a spare back up light is a great purchase in case your ride goes on longer than anticipated or the lights go out earlier than expected.
