Product Description

The Continental Travel Contact Reflex MTB Urban replaces the Goliath Semi Slick, with improved puncture protection and wider centre ridge. ""The best thing I've ever had on a bike,"" says Tilmann Waldthaler, world touring cyclist.

This tyre features EndlessEdge shoulder knobs, with 5-sided knobs to enhance traction for acceleration, braking and cornering in a range of conditions. SafetySystem Puncture Protection with strong, tight and lightweight nylon fabric with reinforcing Kevlar for resistance against pinches and cuts plus a robust tread provides high mileage with reduced wear and chance or punctures.

Did not last long

This tyre has very thin side walls, and after a couple of years use began to split down the middle. That happened before the tread wore out and the side walls also started to split. I found that the knobbles on the side did not have much effect. In wet, muddy conditions this tyre is not much better than a pair of slicks so the side grip only serves to slow you down on the road. In future I am going to opt for a round tyre with stronger side walls and a more even tread coverage.

Not bad depending on where you use it

These are great on road with little rolling resistance but struggle on anything other than bone dry trails. They're a good compromise if you're mostly on the road with the occasional light trail or live somewhere with no rain... but otherwise stick to a proper off road tyre. The puncture resistance seems to make them reasonably sturdy though I have had one puncture over 500 miles of usage.

Very good

The reflex reflective strip works a treat. Only tested on the road so far but semi slick middle seems good for straight line speed.
