Product Description

Premium quality fit and performance, tested by the world’s top cyclists. The Endura Pro SL II Cycling Bib Shorts use advanced materials and design to deliver an unparalleled ride.

Using a high quality Italian Lycra® that is ergonomically pre-shaped, these bib shorts give an exceptional fit for high-intensity cycling. For long rides in hot weather, the coldblack® fabric technology reflects infrared and ultraviolet rays from the sun, preventing excessive heat build up whilst simultaneously giving UPF50 protection.

The antibacterial 700 series seat pad has a Continuously Variable Profile, ensuring the padding gives you optimal support exactly where it’s needed, without bunching up in places where it isn’t.

What’s more, you can choose from three different pad widths and two leg lengths, giving you an incredibly comfortable semi-tailored fit that is perfectly suited to long, high-intensity races & rides.

Key Features:

  • High quality Italian power Lycra® fabric
  • coldblack® technology dramatically reduces heat build up and gives UPF50
  • 700 series pad, computer cut “Continuously Variable Profile” (CVP) stretch pad with antibacterial finish and available in 3 pad width options (Narrow/Medium/Wide)

by Anonymous user on 02/06/2020

Excellent short purchased wide pad to match saddle as Endura website. They are comfortable and fit well. My only minor problem is the leg grip is tight when putting shorts on.

Quality Bib Shorts at a realistic price
by Anonymous user on 22/08/2019

Having had several brands of shorts over the last decade found many especially the most expensive did not offer value for money. These Pro SL shorts were a good fit , very comfortable and I would recommend them to anybody who wants value for money.

Long leg
by Anonymous user on 10/03/2019

Originally bought these shorts because they have a long leg option, which is what I like. The shorts fell well made and the quality material offers good support. The shoulder straps a nice and wide. All round great shorts.

Bib Shorts Guide

Bib Shorts Guide

A good pair of cycling bib shorts should be a staple piece of kit in your wardrobe. If you've ever spent a long time in the saddle you'll know how uncomfortable wearing casual shorts can be. They chafe, fit poorly and offer little mobility. Cycling shorts make all the difference.

Whether you’re commuting, training or racing, bib shorts keep things comfortable. You can get standard shorts that stop at the waist, but we’re focusing on bib shorts here. The added shoulder straps help keep bib shorts in place and are widely considered to be more comfortable. There’s no waist band to dig in as you ride, which can become a problem on longer rides. A higher cut waist offered by bib shorts also helps to keep your core warm.

Types of shorts

Spring – Autumn

For most of the year in the UK a pair of warm weather bib shorts that offer light protection for use in double digit temperatures are ideal. These bib shorts are usually made from slimline materials, like Lycra as it is quick wicking to help transfer moisture away from the body.

Winter

When the temperature drops into single digits, then a pair of thicker winter bib shorts will be more beneficial. Thicker fabrics with a brushed ‘Roubaix’ inner lining will help trap warm air between your skin and the fabric.

Look for bibs with a higher cut up the torso and up the back to help keep your core warmer.

Fabrics designed with wind protection such as Gore Windstopper will keep the wind chill from dampening your enjoyment.

Deep Winter

For where the temperature drops below freezing, you’ll want to choose bibs with the best weather protection and insulation. You might want to look into bib tights, or wearing winter tights over your bib shorts for extra protection and insulation

The fabrics used are highly technical and will ensure your body heat stays within the fabric, while letting moisture escape out.

These shorts are usually constructed out of multiple panels and from a range of fabrics in strategically placed areas in multiple layers.

Women’s Specific shorts

Unisex bib shorts can cause discomfort around the chest area for female cyclists. You’ll find that women’s specific bib shorts often have straps that cover a larger area to reduce this discomfort.

Women’s specific shorts will usually have a higher cut on the chest to offer more insulation for your core.

Key Features

Bib Straps

Bib straps will vary from brand to brand, with a range of styles and designs. Wide seamless straps offer the best comfort to avoid chaffing on your shoulders. A high cut panel on the core and up the back can act like an extra layer for the coldest rides.

For warmer weather mesh bibs can enhance breathability while brushed bibs can help trap body heat for extra insulation.

Fit

Fit is by far the most important factor in comfort when it comes to bib shorts. shorts are constructed from several panels that are stitched together. Premium shorts will come with more panels and strategic stitching for a better fit.

Pad

Most bib shorts will be fitted with a padded insert called a Chamois. This pad sits next to your skin and offers more comfort for your lower vitals, which is ideal on longer rides. Premium pads will utilise a multi-density construction for maximum comfort and ergonomics while you’re in the saddle.

Weatherproof Fabrics

It’s a good idea to get bib shorts that are waterproof or splash proof to prevent you getting wet and cold. Most manufacturers will treat their shorts with some form of water repellent coating like DWR to help water bead up and run off.

Windproof shorts use front facing panels to help keep the wind chill out. Some manufacturers will also use multiple layers of fabric to shield your skin from the elements.

Reflectivity

If you’re planning on cycling to work or fitness training in the evening, then added reflective elements are a bonus. More brands are offering shorts with reflective panels for low light conditions. Look for logos, stripes and graphics positioned on the thighs and around the ankles for maximum visibility.
