Technology

Air Tune System

The lightest back system for our lightest backpacks. The AIR TUNE SYSTEM offers minimal contact surface and maximum back ventilation for high-performance use.

Ventilation channels 01, 3D air mesh padding 02 and shoulder straps with ventilation holes 03 make up the key features for maximum breathability when every second counts or simply for that little bit of added comfort.

Air Circulation

AIR CIRCULATION is used in all our backpacks, as it ensures optimum ventilation while preventing excessive cooling down of the sensitive kidney area, even during extremely high-strain activities or intensive perspiration. Constant, free air circulation is guaranteed as a result of the vertical air channel.

Gaps along the sides of the channel allow additional air to escape.

Material

3D Air Mesh

These three dimensionally structured fabrics with variable thread sizes (P75D*30D) offers the optimal properties in ventilation and cushioning for the covers of paddings and shoulder straps.

Air Mesh

Air Mesh is equipped with fine pores for excellent air circulation and does not absorb moisture. This makes it perfectly suited as a ventilating cover fabric for the back parts of our backpacks.

N210 D Ripstop PU Coated

The demands for the perfect outer material of a backpack can be summed up in four characteristics: durable, abrasion resistant, water repellent and very light. This is exactly what our Nylon 210/D Ripstop offers. A double PU-coating of the lightweight nylon base provides moisture protection and wear resistance. A micro texture of filaments segments the basic fabric into tiny squares to prevent rips – hence the name Ripstop.

Hydration Packs Guide

Do I need a hydration backpack?

If you ride your mountain bike on off-road trails, then you will want to take some fluid with you. While many MTBs have bottle cages if you want more than 750ml of then you will need a hydration backpack. They are also useful for carrying extra clothing, tools and food.

How much fluid can I carry?

Hydration backpacks are supplied with a 1.5, 2 or 3 litre bladder to carry fluid. A larger bladder will enable you to choose how much you carry with you on specific rides as you don’t need to use the whole capacity. A hose with a mouthpiece and tap allows you to drink while you ride.

How much kit can I carry in a hydration backpack?

This very much depends on the model - a classic CamelBak will only have room for a trail tool and thin layer while an alpine style pack will have room for tools, spares, food waterproofs and post ride clothing. In addition to this some hydration packs have compression straps that allow you to vary the capacity and carry straps for carrying extra kit, like body armour.

What size hydration pack do I need?

This will depend on the type and length of ride.

  • Up to 5 litres – short rides with minimal kit
  • 6–12 litres – all day rides carrying extra layers, food and trail tools
  • 13-25 litres – all day and multi-day rides carrying extra layers, food, tools, spares and post ride clothing

Can I ride technical terrain with a hydration pack?

While all our hydration packs are designed for serious off-roading some are more suited to riding steep technical terrain. Look for a pack with a horizontal or lumbar bladder and a substantial waist strap for riding more challenging, enduro style trails. as these offer a lower centre of gravity for increased stability.

Can I use a hydration pack for commuting?

Many hydration packs feature reflective strips and a tab for a rear light so make a great commuting packs too.

Are the hydration bladders easy to clean?

Yes, hydration pack bladders tend to have a wide opening so you can easily get your hand inside to give them a good clean.
