The Performance Elite 40 retains the same 7000 series aluminum upper tubes as Factory Series, but has black anodized upper tubes instead of Genuine Kashima Coat. It also has a different FIT damper (without high-speed compression adjust) than the Factory model. A Performance Elite graphics package ties in the black-on-black look.

FIT4 DAMPER TUNE
New damper tune is found in all 34 and 36 FIT4 forks. A reconfigured shim stack provides more sensitivity while maintaining support when needed during aggressive riding.
In its fourth generation, our patented FIT4 closed cartridge system provides three on-the-fly compression damping positions—Open, Medium, and Firm—to adapt to varying trail conditions. Factory Series forks feature an additional 22 clicks of low-speed compression adjust in the Open mode, allowing riders to fine-tune their exact damping preferences.
NEW FOR 2018
Performance Elite forks are now available in the 34, 36, and 40 fork families. The 34 and 36 forks retain the same adjustments, dampers, weight, and 7000 series aluminum upper tubes as Factory Series, but have black anodized upper tubes instead of Genuine Kashima Coat. The 40 has a different damper (with fewer adjustments) but continues the black ano upper tube theme. A Performance Elite graphics package is found on these forks to tie in the black-on-black look.

EVOL HAS EVOLVED
A more linear spring curve gives EVOL forks and shocks plushness off the top, extra mid-stroke support, and more tunable bottom-out progression, allowing riders to tap into the ideal pairing of front and rear-end feel.
SHOCKS The new lighter one-piece EVOL air sleeve was designed for each shock size (imperial and metric) to balance internal forces, and has maximized bushing overlap to reduce friction during “real world” forces like side-loading and twisting.
FORKS EVOL technology from rear shocks is now integrated into all FOX forks. EVOL increases negative air spring volume, specifically positioned and sized for optimum small bump sensitivity.
