Product description

Smooth, fast and fun the Giant Contend SL 2 Disc is an endurance road bike that picks up where the Giant Defy left off to offer true all-rounder performance.

The lightweight ALUXX SL aluminium frame, with comfortable endurance geometry, combines stable handling with a comfortable all-day riding position. Steering is precise thanks to the OverDrive tapered steerer tube while the oversized PowerCore bottom bracket area ensures that power transfer is immediate and acceleration lightning quick. The carbon bladed fork and carbon composite D-Fuse seatpost offer a smooth ride even over rough road surfaces.

The seamless hydraulic disc brake integration offers confident stopping power on all road surfaces and in all weather conditions. The Shimano Tiagra 2x10 speed drivetrain delivers slick shifting performance and features a compact chainset and wide range cassette. Fab road bike

Chose this for my new winter bike, as it has discs and can take mudguards. The conduct hydraulic discs are great and the overall ride is fantastic. Abolutely loving this bike, and it is quickly becoming my favourite over my more expensive summer bike!

Giant Contend SL

This is my first road bike, very impressed with the quality of the SL2 and service from Tredz, I purchased a bike three years ago from them and the service from Tredz was of the as just as good this time, very helpful when calling them and prompt service.

Great comfort

I bought this a second bike/winter bike for use in wet conditions. However although not as nimble as my carbon bike this bike is really impressive. It rides so smooth and the brakes are stunning. I have ridden some long rides on it and the comfort is sublime. Another thing that surprised me was how good this bike is at climbing it really is superb. There was some brake rub when it was delivered but the disc caliper had been installed incorrectly, but a few minutes of adjustment and it was perfect. This is not a KOM hunting bike and not an average speed buster but if you fancy banging in a 100+ miles in comfort in any weather then buy it!

Awesome upgrade

I recently upgraded to this beauty. I had been using a Carrera vanquish for a year or so but felt that it was time to purchase a much more solid bike. After looking at various brands, I chose the Giant as it ticked all the boxes for me...disc brakes, shimano hardware, 20 speed and black paint job. The bike is lightweight but very solid when riding. It gives the rider a lot of confidence to bank it into bends or to hold on to the drop bars for some extra speed. The ride is a lot more comfortable than I had expected. The saddle is robust and the ride is smooth. The bike comes with a few extras, mainly in the form of handlebar attachments for a GoPro and or a Garmin computer. I didn't have a bike fit for this bike, as I had an idea what size I needed. I am 5"7 and the medium frame size is perfect for me. So far the only minus point I have against it (and it is a small one) is that the brake cables etc are very close to the handlebars, so attaching your own clamps for phone, computer etc can be tricky or just impossible. But I am very happy with this bike, well worth the money. Tredz were awesome, they updated me at every given opportunity of how the order was going.
