The Giro Savant MIPS road cycling helmet provides next level protection against impacts. MIPS is designed to reduce rotational forces. An elastomeric attachment fits between the EPS liner and a low friction liner. In an impact this attachment stretches to allow the EPS liner to rotate independently around your head.
The slim shape makes maximum use of the 25 wind tunnel vents. Even on the hardest climbs you’ll not overheat.
The Savant uses Giro’s Roc Loc 5 retention system which also gives you height adjust and can be used with just one hand as you’re riding.
In-mold construction greatly improves the durability and strength of the lid whilst being light so it doesn’t weigh you down.

I'm a convert to MIPS since it saved my noggin after a really nasty snowboarding flip - This helmet is not not too pricey, not too garish, yet super light and fairly good looking. What cost yer life?!

How to measure yourself for a helmetTo find the circumference of your head, place a tape measure in the centre of your forehead, wrap it around above your ears and around the back of your head. If there's a slight difference between two different sizes, always go for the tighter size.
|Universal fit adult||54-61||21.25-24|
|Universal fit X large||58-65||23-25.5|
Giro helmets are carefully constructed to give strength, durability and complete protection when you're out riding. They have an adjustable fit and great ventilation, as well as being CE EN1078 certified.

All helmets we stock meet EU and international safety standards. High priced helmets are not necessarily stronger than an entry-level lid.
But, they will be more comfortable, lightweight and better vented. Premium lids come with more advanced features.
Measure your head size
Fit is essential for a comfortable ride. Wrap a tape measure around your head, just above your ears at the thickest part of your head.
Choose a helmet with plenty of vents to ensure you stay cool as you ride. Quality helmets use deep vents that connect to rear exhausts for maximum airflow.
Dial Fit Adjustment
Helmets with dial adjusters on the rear let you adjust the fit as you ride. The best dial adjusters are easy to use with one-hand so you can keep pedaling.
If you plan on commuting or riding on-road then look for helmets with reflective elements, bright designs or even integrated LED’s to improve your safety.
A small but useful feature is a removable visor. Great for mountain bikers, a visor can shield your eyes from glare, debris and rain.
Road bike helmets are lightweight with plenty of venting to keep you cool. Premium road helmets will come with aero profiling to help you slip through the wind.
MTB helmets are more durable with a thicker shell and good ventilation. You’ll find extended protection around the sides and rear of your head for maximum protection. Most come with a removable visor to protect against glare and debris.
Full Face Helmets
Full Face helmets offer the ultimate protection for downhill mounting biking. You get full side and rear coverage as well as a chin guard to keep your lower face shielded.
Skate helmets come with minimal venting in favour of a hardshell design offering side and rear protection. Great for the skatepark or pump track.
Urban helmets blend a hybrid of features from road and MTB helmet with added visibility for on-road safety. They are ideal for commuters.
MIPS is a new technology found on high-end bike helmets. It is a low friction layer inside the helmet that moves during rotational impacts. This movement reduces and slows energy being transferred to your head.
The idea behind MIPS is to reduce the risk of brain injury.
Many manufacturers have a Crash Replacement policy. If your helmet has been involved with a crash, you can buy a replacement at a reduced price.
Often crash replacement is available if your helmet is up to 3 years old and you’re a UK resident.
Check with the manufacturer of your helmet to see if you’re eligible for a discount.
