Take your riding performance to the next level with the Lake CX217 road cycling shoes. These cycle specific shoes come with a 100% carbon fibre sole which is super stiff for improved pedalling efficiency.

A mesh upper and vents in the sides work to keep your feet cool and dry on warm rides. A wide forefoot area is comfortable when riding long distances.

The Lake CX217 shoes are fitted with a  dial fit system so you can fine tune the shoes to your anatomy.

    Key Features

    • Upper: Action leather and mesh upper
    • Outsole: Lake race 100% Carbon Fiber Sole. Available in 3-hole pattern
    • Last: Competition Last: The Competition last is specifically shaped for optimal power transfer and comfort. Like the CFC race last, the Competition last puts the foot in a position that allows the energy to be focused to the spindle but also offers more room for the forefoot to expand allowing for a comfortable fit for extreme long distance riding.

    So comfortable for wide feet

I've struggled with finding decent cycling shoes for my wide feet and after reading some recommendations decided to try these. Two rides in and I love them, no pins and needles after 20 minutes riding and room to wriggle my toes. And I think the dial fastening will make me smile every time!

Smooth and fast ride from the aqualicious Lapierre

This gorgeous bike had me overtaking my boyfriend up hills for the first time in a year! The ride is heavenly on a smooth surface and it seems it is as good at climbing as it claims to be. I have changed the wheels, which weren't good enough for a bike of this calibre, and the saddle, which wasn't comfortable enough. So it has obviously come in more expensive but I'm hoping this is my forever bike, after all, who wouldn't want to keep looking at those beautiful curves! I am finding that the brake levers are just a little too far from the handlebars for me, which is surprising from a women's bike, and I need to play with the angle of the handlebars a bit more as there is a lot of uncomfortable pressure on the area between my thumb and forefinger.

    Best shoes ever

After 30 year of cycling, I actually found a pair of cycling shoes that fit. Sidi's were always too narrow or came up small. Bont's were awful for my fallen arches Specialized made my toes tingle, I could go on but these Lakes are great. Wide toe box with plenty of room, stiff sole and made from a really soft material. I ordered two pairs from Tredz, these, size 46.5 and the CX331 size 47. Even though the 331's were bigger they rubbed my little toe where as these fitted straight out of the box. Which pleased me greatly as I saved over £100 so if you can live without Kangaroo hide on your feet these might just be the shoe for you.

    Great for wide feet

I've tried them all. Having size 11 wide and flattish feet big shoes don't always work as they're too long. Wide fits are often high volume like the shimano wide fits which are baggy all over the top and can't be tightened down properly. My existing mavic zxellium were ok for a couple of hours but would then get painful on the outer edge of my foot through insufficient width. I tried bont riots and they should have been perfect according to the measurements but the arch shape was far too high and rigid. Also tbh the ratchets and materials felt cheap and flimsy. These lakes fitted like slippers as soon as I put them on and the insole is clearly 5mm wider at least than any other wide or normal for cycling shoes I've tried. They are normal width at the heel but just have more room at the 'knuckle' of your little toe. The boa fixing is high quality and smooth and ensures perfect tightening over the top, no hot spots or useless straps. Test ride revealed that they are perfect. The stiff carbon foot bed means I can stand on every climb and put full weight through them. Highly recommended.
