Roll faster for longer with the Mavic Aksium Elite Road Wheels. These wheels come complete with matching tyres that combine to give superb performance.

The S6000 aluminium rims have been redesigned in a box section, and feature sleeved joins for extra strength. The low spoke count complements the rims to offer a fantastic ride quality that is comfortable, yet efficiently delivers power to the road. The 20 bladed spokes in each wheel offer an aerodynamic advantage by reducing wind resistance.

Sealed cartridge bearings in the hubs make sure that rolling speed and reliability is the key priority.  The hubs use quick release axles with 100mm front spacing and 130mm rear spacing. The Shimano freehub of the rear wheel can be converted to a Campagnolo freehub.

Complete with the Aksium Elite Road Wheels are Mavic’s Yksion Elite Guard tyres. They are 25c wide, single compound tyre and feature a tough 120TPI casing. The wheel/tyre pair makes for a fantastic upgrade to your entry or mid-level road bike.

    Mavic Front Wheel

Bought this replacement front wheel after my original was destroyed by a nice chap in a 4 x 4. Like other reviews I found the rim joint to be very poor causing an annoying ticking noise on braking. I eventually fixed it myself using emery paper - quality control at Mavic obviously not the best

    Slightly disappointed

Bought these as replacements for the Alexrims that came with the bike. They look great and they aren't particularly heavy, I bought these as a set for £197 and to be honest, for that price, I would expect the joint in each rim to be much less obvious than it is, you can hear the joint in every pass during braking so even for entry level wheels, I don't think it would be fair to recommend them as my cheap Alexrims were smooth and quiet compared to these.

    Mavic Aksium Elite 2017

Wheels have only just been purchased and fitted, so I can't comment on the long term use of them. I purchased these to replace a set of aging Mavic Aksium Race wheels from 2010. I ummed and arred about which Aksiums to get, eventually plumping for the Elites due to the slightly lighter weight and because of their value for money, given they are already fitted with decent tyres and inner tubes, negating some of the cost of buying the rims only. First impression is that they are of a decent quality. The rims are true and there does appear to be a bit of a weight loss over the old rims, which will be consigned to be used with a turbo trainer. Given the long life of the last ones, I have no doubt that these will last a few years yet.
