A lightweight upgrade for your road racer. The Mavic Ksyrium Pro Disc Road Wheels make for rapid rolling, while adding accurate handling characteristics to your bike.

The unique Ksyrium Pro rims are made from Maxtal alloy and feature Mavic’s ISM 4D technology, which removes material between the spoke holes, giving a great strength to weight ratio. The joint is welding using SUP and have Fore drilling for the spoke holes, which allows the nipples to be threaded into the rims for greater strength.

Using Mavic’s Instant Drive 360, the freehub is fast rolling with little friction and have quick engagement, wasting no time in getting power from your legs to the road. Allowing for easy maintenance, the hubs feature replaceable sealed cartridge bearings.

The hubs are convertible from quick release to 12x100mm (front) and 12x142mm (rear) with the supplied adaptors. The front can also be made to accept 15x100mm with additional adaptors that are sold separately. The wheels are available in either Shimano’s Centre Lock standard or 6-bolt for the rotor attachment.

The 24 spokes front and rear are made from Mavic’s Zicral alloy and feature a bladed, straight-pull shape. They are lighter than steel spokes, while still keeping the wheels stiff. The shape gives them an aerodynamic advantage as well as balances weight and strength. The front lacing is a 2 cross pattern, while the rear has Mavic’s Isopulse lacing.

The Ksyrium Pro Disc wheels come with Yksion Pro tyres in 25c size. The front tyre gets Mavic’s GripLink compound that offers excellent grip, while the rear has the PowerLink compound for super low rolling resistance. This gives a perfect balance between fast riding and cornering control.

    First Few Days Experience

I always liked Mavic wheels for their good trade-off of price, stiffness, reliability and general robustness. My rim braked bike has had Aksium Race then Ksyrium Elites which are still going strong after 3 years of supporting my 90KG+ weight. Recently acquired an N+1 "sunday best" disc braked Scott Solace and bought these to upgrade the stock Syncros RP 2.0 wheelset (which are ok to be fair if a little loud at the DT Swiss freehub, have overly bling decals and weigh about 300g per set all in). Bike looks better for the change to these stealthy / understated Mavics and early impressions are they are fast and robust. Predictably they do feel harder riding on the skinny looking 25mm Mavic tyres supplied. Am therefore going to try them with the 28mm Schwalbe tyres that came with stock bike to compare. When riding, the freehub is quick to engage and very quiet in operation. Switch of centrelock rotor between stock wheels and this upgrade was easy / pain free (just need a Shimano cassette and bottom bracket removal tool for this). Did not need to adjust hydraulic brakes to make rotors align to the right place. Everything just worked first time with my particular through axles. These are a pricey upgrade but tempered with a significant discount to RRP at the time of purchase and interest free credit availability to boot for 18 months. What's not to like. Delivered on time and well packaged.
