Good, solid and comfy bike

Having resolved to be more active at the start of the year, I was looking for a bike that I could use to replace short-ish car journeys and general random excursions. I wanted something that was well-equipped, with dynamo lights, fitted mudguards, integrated lock and kick-stand being high on my list of important features. It needed to be something I could ride safely, whatever the conditions. The Orbea Comfort 10 ticked all the boxes and I have owned and ridden this bike for two months now without any issues. Some of my journeys take me on rough, pot-holed rural roads and this bike allows me to traverse these without getting caked in mud and, thanks to the suspension, in relative comfort. The dynamo stores power so the lights stay lit for a good duration when stationary, even after only a small amount of pedalling, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you will stay visible to other road users when stopping at junctions/crossings. With all the aforementioned equipment, it's quite a heavy beast, although not to the detriment of its handling as far as I can tell. With ample gears I'm yet to find an incline too steep, so unless you plan on carrying your bike(!) the weight shouldn't be an issue. In summary, you won't be the fastest (pedal powered) thing on two wheels riding the Orbea Comfort, but you might well be the comfiest. One important thing to note: I would recommend referring to the manufacturers' sizing guide before choosing a frame size. At 5'11" I fall somewhere in the middle of the large frame size, rather than the medium as suggested by Tredz' generic guide. Fortunately I realised this before my order had gone too far and a quick phone call was able to resolve this potential pitfall. On that note, I can't speak highly enough of Tredz' customer service. I found them to be knowledgeable and accomodating. You definitely shouldn't hesitate to drop them a line if you have any questions before ordering. Furthermore, their bike specialist team were very helpful in advising me on some specific maintenance questions I had in the weeks after receiving my bike. Cheers, Tredz, keep up the good work!
