    allmost the perfect mit

I have worked my way through several summer fingerless mitts to try and find the perfect one and the Pearl Izumi is almost there. So the good points are the overall fit is excellent, snug but not too tight and the quality of the materials used is very high. The vented Gel padding works to let air flow to your skin very nicely. And the points that stop this being the perfect mitt for me .... The gel pads over the heal of the hand and the fleshy base of the thumb are too far apart and so in some positions sit either side of the bar and don't absorb the shock as they are intended. Other hand positions they are perfect so it is a case of finding the best positon for you to maximise the padding. my single biggest disappointment is the stitching for the reinforcement of the inner edge of the thumb sits centrally to my thumb and so riding on the hoods gets a lot of pressure on this exact spot. Widening the reinforcement by 1cm would move the seams around the thumb and take it outside the pressure zone. one to change on the next upgrade please Pearl Izumi and you could have made my perfect mitt.
