Proviz Reflect 360 backpack

I have already purchased the Proviz 360 jacket so knew how good these products are for safety and being seen on the road, now with the backpack I'm complete. The space inside is ample and the Zips are a bit tight but that's because they are water proof. There are plenty of pockets and dividers inside to keep your belongings in. I can get a change of clothes and a medium lunch box in it. No real need for a cover with this backpack as it's totally water proof anyway. Overall it's a great product and I could not find it cheaper any where else but here at Tredz.

Full Moon

My work colleagues who drive past me on the way home, says it looks like the moon has dropped out the sky in front of them. Most drivers slow down more with this on my back. The zips are tight, but that assures me no water is getting in there, 100% dry so far! I also wear the 360 jacket which is a good fit and brilliantly white in the dark. Also looks good by day my wife tells me. Great items, but a little too pricey

Let down by zips

The bag its self is large and very reflective. Plenty of pockets as well the only feature that lets it down is the Zips which are tight and don't do up very easily.

Proviz 360 reflective backpack

Initial impressions are good. It's comfy on the back and does not obscure your view when you shoulder check behind. The material is two ply and has a very thick feel to it. I certainly expect it to be waterproof. Zips are waterproof but they are the micro tooth type that might have trouble if the pack is overfilled. It has chest and waste strap but I don't use either of these. An improvement would be to have these detachable otherwise I am forced to cut them off. There are lots of compartments inside and despite them appearing to take all the space it is still quite large inside.

Proviz Reflect 360 Backpack

This is a really good backpack for cycling - it's a good size without being too big and bulky, it has all the right adjustment to make it fit properly when cycling without moving about and although I haven't tried it in really heavy rain, so far it has been much better at keeping rian out than my previous backpack. But where it becomes a brilliant backpack, particularly for cycling commuters is the retro-reflective coating, which reflects light from other vehicles behind you. Quite literally brilliant! And at a great price.

Could save your life...

I am so pleased with this bag. I commute every day to the office and back, and I usually set off early in the morning and arrive home late in the evening/night. I was uneasy riding at night with my previous bag, although there was nothing wrong with it other than the colour - black. This back is phenomenal in terms of reflectivity and visibility at night. Seriously, the only reason I went out and bought on was because I stopped a cyclist out one evening who had the same bag, I was so amazed at how clearly I could see him that I needed to stop and ask him about it. I genuinely believe that this could save peoples lives. Sometimes a light just isn't enough especially the cheaper that are just not as bright. That is the biggest selling point for this bag. Now, as for the quality, it is not the best in terms of build quality, I have an equivalent priced Oakley bag which is far superior, but it has nothing in terms of the reflective performances of this particular bag. There is nothing "shoddy" about the finish, but I feel that the internal padding is not as thick or as firm as it could be within the shoulder straps, the zip although waterproof is the type that will likely degrade over time and tear the rubber-like seals around it. I don't expect this back to last more than a couple of years, but even if I had to buy a new one once a year it would certainly be worth it.

Proviz Reflect 360 Rucksack

Great rucksack. My teenage son loves it and slings it in his back everytime he gets on the bike. Tredz were unable to deliver the rucksack in the time they would have liked but they informed me with a very polite email which was v.helpful. Happy to have found them.

Cycle Backpacks Guide

Do I need a cycling backpack?

Cycling backpacks are designed to sit securely on your back while you ride. This is not always the case with non-cycling backpacks that may tend to wobble around as you ride. In addition to this cycling backpacks often have reflective strips and a rear light tab to improve night time visibility.

What size backpack do I need?

With capacities varying from 10 to 35 litres you will need to choose a cycling backpack that is right for the kind of cycling that you do most.

  • 10-19 litres – best for shorter rides and commuting with minimal kit
  • 20-29 litres – ideal for all day adventures and general commuting
  • 30+ litres – Good for touring and commuting with lots of kit

Can I use a hydration bladder with these backpacks?

While these cycling backpacks are not supplied with hydration bladders many of them have a bladder pocket ready to take one. Look for ‘Hydration bladder compatible’ in the product description.

Which are the best backpacks for commuting?

Hi-viz backpacks are designed specifically for urban riding so are ideal for commuting. Look for a backpack with reflective detailing and an integrated waterproof cover to keep out the elements.

Are cycling backpacks waterproof?

Some cycling backpacks are completely waterproof so you can ride all day in the rain while still keeping your kit dry.

Another option is a rain cover which will do a good job at keeping the water out. This is usually adequate protection for commuting and many cycling backpacks are supplied with them.  Waterproof backpack covers are also available separately.
