Product Description

Our PROVIZ high visibility cycling gloves are the perfect glove for your ride. The fluorescent yellow material along with the reflective trim helps to keep you visible whilst the tri-laminated fleece-lined protection helps to keep you warm yet allow heat and moisture to escape. The gloves differ from standard fleece-lined gloves in that the fleece is not touching the skin, it is instead the middle layer. This helps to prevent sweating yet keeps your hands warm and allows for maximum breathability.

Features:
  • Fluorescent yellow
  • Fantastic padded grip for extra safety
  • Reflective trim for added visibility
  • Fleece-lined
  • Breathable and water-resistant

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

Meh

First up, you should notice two different types of gloves are pictured. I recieved the ones in the later photos with the xcross grip and not the lovely looking padding. The grip is good but not as padded as in the first photos. They came up a but too small but manageble. Warm, well yes, atm (january) too warm! These are so hot theyre sweaty, zero breathability, i expect this to even out as it gets colder. Waterproof, i expect they will be, the reason theyre sweaty is because they feel like a plasic bag sandwiched between some hiviz and a glove, wet on the outside warm and dry on the inside. So they work but dont expect hitech clothing, not even gortex. The colour is bright, which is good. Happy to wear but wouldnt buy twice.

small hands=large?

I've got small hands for a man, so I thought I'd be OK with "medium". But they fit exactly, with no need for the tightening strap. Something to bear in mind is that its really hard to get exact-fit gloves on if your hands are already wet. On balance I'd suggest that even if you have small hands, order the "large" size...!

Odd fit?

Am i the only one with small thumbs? All cycling gloves I have bought are medium, but in medium these feel (very) long in the thumb and short across the palm, ok across my middle finger. Not as reflective as I thought they would be- to be honest not much different to my specialised gloves Not as "game changing' as the proviz jacket

Warm and Toasty

These gloves are great. I purchased these as I had been cycling in snow and sleet and my other gloves weren't fit for purpose. These gloves keep my hands extremely warm, they have also kept my hands nice and dry. I would definitely recommend these gloves.

M v S Size

I have tried S and M as my hands are in between sizes and felt the M even tho fitted were not as snug as I liked, however on ordering the gloves again in a size S I discovered they were a different design just as the site shows the gloves in two styles. So first the S have the gray padding and are not as warm, so in temp 0 or below your fingers will get cold but not too cold. The M size gloves have the black padding and not as much as the S size gloves. The M size gloves are warmer than the S size gloves and that is due to a different design, much nicer for 0 or below temperature but due to little padding on the palms compared to the S size gloves that have thicker padding for warmer weather and for more aggressive MTB I prefer the S size gloves, when colder and just riding from A to B I prefer to wear the M size gloves.

“So far so good”

I have invested in a range of gear to help me enjoy Mtb riding through winter and these are one of my many purchases to keep me warm and dry. So far so good, I’ve used them a few time on night rides and I really like them. I feel they fit as described and are comfortable and warm, although it hasn’t got that cold yet! I didn’t give them 5 stars for two reasons... 1) they haven’t yet been tested in the rain, so don’t know how waterproof they are 2) you can’t acces your phone without taking them off, which then makes your hand cold.

Long Finger Gloves Guide

Long Finger Gloves Buying Guide

Long finger cycling gloves come in many different styles and designs. For fast road cyclists, hard-hitting mountain bikers and daily commuters, finding the right glove for the conditions and your riding style is key to feeling comfortable and confident on your bike.

With features like touchscreen compatibility, impact armour and all-weather protection, a long finger glove keeps you under control.

Light long finger gloves

Long finger gloves are preferred by mountain bikers year-round. Offering grip on the hottest of days by wicking sweat from hands to maintain control on the bars and brakes.

Most manufacturers offer a thin, trail friendly glove that keeps the natural feel and dexterity of riding gloveless. The nature of mountain biking will often take you through overgrown trails in the summer, long finger gloves offer protection from brambles and trail obstacles.

A thin, light glove offered by SealSkinz

Hands are often the first contact point when taking a fall so riding with no gloves after a tumble is no fun at all! Even the lightest glove will offer some protection.

This type of glove is also great for road cycling and commuting.

Heavy duty MTB Gloves

Long finger MTB gloves offer varying levels of protection, from more sturdy trail gloves to DH and gravity orientated gloves.

Protection will increase on both the outside of the hand but also the palm. Manufacturers will look to find the balance between palm protection from crashing and bar feel, as a thicker glove will offer less feel on the bars. The outside and knuckles will often get caught by trailside objects or damaged during a tumble. Heavy duty gloves often have abrasion and rip resistant material on the outer, with padded inserts for crash protection.

Fox Clothing's Attack gloves have D3O padding on the knuckles to protect from trailside obstacles

Winter gloves

Riding in winter can be comfortable and warm with the right clothing. The first parts bitten by the cold are extremities like fingers. Luckily insulated, windproof and waterproof gloves are available for the winter months.

Insulation can be provided by Neoprene, Primaloft, and various other material while wind/waterproof materials keep your hands safe from the elements. Mountain bikers, road cyclists and commuters will all need winter protection and there are gloves tailored to each discipline.

SealSkinz are well-known for a range of waterproof clothing, they have several gloves in this range. Perfect for winter riding.

A popular waterproof treatment is known as DWR (Durable Water Repellent) a coating that can be re-applied over the months. Others will use a permeable membrane like Gore-Tex to keep the water out while remaining breathable.

MTB and Road cyclists will often have high body temperatures so require less insulation and more dexterity while keeping the wind and water repellent properties a sports specific glove can offer. While commuters often ride at a slower pace and through the worst conditions so a thicker glove with heavy insulation is key.
