Best mtb upgrade i have invested in

Having used coil suspension for 4 years on my mtb it is a transformation putting this air suspension on. From trying to feel any suspension movement before it now feels lively and comfortable to ride. It even encourages you to find bumps and ride differently too, more on the pedals to appreciate the ride quality, particularly being a hardtail. There isnt any jarring or judder like the old coils. The travel is pretty good throughout and easy to limit it to 90% travel with the compression setting. The settings are really nice to use and easy to set up. You will need a shock pump as it isnt supplied, a crown for the headset cap and customise your steerer length, but otherwise ready to go! Lock out is easy enough with this system so a bar activated design really isnt necessary, something you can do on the go too for when you want to climb or ride hard on flatter terrain. The weight saving doesnt go unnoticed too. Saving almost 1kg from coils is significant for the balance and agility when riding on the rear wheel too, something i wanted to try and work on previously. Might make landings off small jumps smoother, although dont go too big, these are xc forks not downhill so they would bottom out quite quickly. Enjoy!

    suntour epixon forks

Bought the 120mm suntour epixon to replace orignal suntour xcr.xcr forks were good for mild xc but a bit heavy and limited on faster bumpy decents. The epixon are 550 grams ligther with more travel. They come with 100 psi of air in them but I reduced to just over 90psi and the rebound half way..about 12 clicks. I am 6'4" and 90kg. There forks are so much better and give me much more confidence once again on the decents. I have just got back into mtbing after 2 years of triathlon. Over my 10 years plus of mtbing I have ridden many hardtails and full-suss mtbs all with Fox or rockshox forks. There are half the price you are getting a very good fork for hard xc and a bit more. I was very skepical at first but trust me they are a very good fork..glad I bought the 120mm version...well happy.
