eTap technology has been designed for intuitive and consistent shifting, and the SRAM RED eTap Rear Derailleur Short Cage 11-Speed will ensure all your shifts are precise and instant.

The design has a smart, clean appearance and fuses electronic technological advancements with a carbon pulley cage, ceramic pulley bearings, and anodised alloy.

This derailleur is compatible with SRAM RED eTap shift/brake controls and this short cage version has a maximum tooth capacity of 28T. With the battery, this derailleur weighs a mere 239g.

With 128-bit encryption, Airea is SRAM's wireless protocol that ensures secure shifting. The pairing of a new eTap groupset creates a new encryption code assigned specifically to the components in the group.

The index shifting system is extremely simple to set up and maintain thanks to Exact Actuation technology. This MTB proven technology of a 1:1 actuation ratio stabilises the balancing of rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing, and exact cable tension.

    Key Features:

    • Speeds: 11-speed
    • Weight: 239g (with battery)
    • Outer cage: carbon
    • Compatibility: SRAM RED eTap, PowerdomeX & PowerGlide cassettes
    • Inner cage: carbon
    • Finish: black
    • Max tooth: 28t
    • Pulleys: ceramic
    • Pull: Exact Actuation
    • Technology highlight(s): eTap, AIREA

Utilizing 128-bit encryption, eTap® shift signals are transmitted and received in accordance with SRAM’s proprietary wireless protocol known as AIREA. Each time an eTap groupset is paired, a new encryption code is generated and assigned to the components in this group to ensure complete shifting security.

All of the underlying tech in our new SRAM RED® eTap groupset such as wireless shifting, advanced battery power management and mechatronics technologies are all meant to serve one ultimate purpose, to facilitate the most intuitive and consistent shifting available. This shift logic is called eTap. Right lever makes it harder, left lever makes it easier, both levers shift the front derailleur. Simple, unmistakable, and intuitive.

When we launched our road technology from scratch we reapplied our MTB proven SRAM 1:1 actuation ratio (shifter cable travel: derailleur movement) for 10 speed rear shifting. EA helps to simplify/stabilize the uneasy act of balancing rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and exact cable tension. The result: the easiest index shifting system to set up and it stays that way.
