Product Description

With the new Tyre Booster from Schwalbe, tubeless tyre assembly can be accomplished easily. The light, handy cylinder can be used both statically and on the road.

A powerful blast of air is required for tubeless tyre assembly so that the tyre bead quickly presses into the rim flange and the tyre is sealed. “Depending on the combination of tyre and rim, it doesn’t always work with conventional floor pumps,” explains Peter Krischio, Schwalbe Product Manager Race. In the professional workshop or at the garage, a compressor helps out.

For safe and easy fitting without a compressor, Schwalbe is now launching the Tyre Booster, which was developed in collaboration with the British start-up Airshot. With it, a pressure of up to eleven bar can be immediately applied to the tyres. “The tyre immediately seats itself safely on the rim and seals everything evenly,” says Peter Krischio. “The Tyre Booster is a significant advantage for assembly of tubeless tyres. At a light 435 grams, you can easily take it along on your trips.”

If you need an even bigger flow of air, a special adapter is also available. For this, the valve insert is removed and the adapter is screwed directly onto the valve spindle - the airflow is thus maximised.

How the Schwalbe Tyre Booster works:

  • Connect the Schwalbe Tyre Booster to a conventional floor pump using the SV valve on the Tyre Booster
  • Fill the cylinder and then operate the quick-release valve
  • The air immediately distributes itself evenly and the tyre seats itself - usually with the typical loud crack - firmly on the rim

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

Essential tool for tubeless
by Anonymous user on 17/08/2018

This works a treat! Simply attach a track pump and pump to 120+ psi, attach to the tyre (without the valve core works best) and let it rip! It seats the tyre so quick and easy! No mess or stress! A little over-priced but it’s good to know you got one when you need it! It wont be the most used tool in your arsenal but a must-have for any tubeless rider! It’s the same as the Air-Shot butn a different colour / brand.

Bike Pumps Guide

What are bike pumps?

A bike pump is essential for keeping your tyres inflated, preventing pesky pinch punctures and providing more efficient riding. Tyres gradually deflate even if your bike stays inactive for a while, so it’s good practice to top them up as often as you can.

Who needs a bike pump?

Anyone with a bike. A mini pump or CO2 cannister can be vital in getting you home after a puncture, or to work on time if you’re commuting.

What are the choices?

Traditional pumps are easy to use and inexpensive to buy. A hand pump is operated with a pumping action and is available in standard or mini size. Both types can be fitted to eyelets in your bike frame or smaller pumps will fit in a saddle bag. Track or floor pumps are great for the garage – inflating high psi levels in just a couple of movements. CO2 cannister instantly release air into your tyres and are diminutive in size.

What should I buy with it?

If your pump isn’t compatible the valve on your tyre (Presta or Schrader) you may need to buy an adaptor. CO2 cartridges require a small adaptor for use.

Anything else?

A gauge is a good way of seeing how much air you’ve added, preventing the dreaded pop sound from an overambitious inflation. Also, NEVER take CO2 cartridges with you on an aeroplane!
