Specialized Sirrus review

We understand that fitness bikes can get a bad wrap. All too often, they err on the side of value over performance, leaving you feeling in between, and frankly, a little burned. But we're happy to say that our Sirrus Expert Carbon is out to change that by providing the perfect blend of everyday efficiency with the performance you need to hit your fitness goals at speed.

To do so, we started with a high quality FACT 9r carbon fibre construction that's lightweight and extremely responsive, not only making the Sirrus a better climber, but also making it easier to carry up the stairs after your commute. Onto what we like to think is the best part of the new Sirrus, though, our new Future Shock. Essentially, it's a piston in the head tube with 20mm of travel. We developed this technology in partnership with McLaren Applied Technologies, and the result of this relationship are a host of drastic performance improvements, namely in the vertical compliance department. Without giving a physics lecture, we found that is improves smoothness, speed, and comfort in one fell swoop.

We equipped this bike with a wide range of gears from the Shimano & microSHIFT components, plus next level comfort that follows our scientifically tested and engineered Body Geometry components. So as you push yourself to reach your goals. It'll leave you feeling like you have the perfect partner on your path to health and wellbeing.

The FACT 9r carbon fibre frame is engineered and designed with our Fitness Geometry, helping you ride more efficiently in a position that will see you riding comfortably, mile-after-mile. And the all-new Future Shock "suspension" system at the cockpit delivers a revolutionary degree of comfort and control.

The lightweight FACT carbon fibre fork provides a smooth, responsive ride, while the Plug + Play fender mounts give you the option to install rain-fighting fenders.

Braking duties are handled by TRP Flow Set Control hydraulic disc brakes to ensure effective, consistent, and reliable power through any kind of terrain or condition.

Superb bike for fitness and commuting.
by Anonymous user on 02/06/2020

This is the most premium bike I’ve owned but what an upgrade on my previous bikes. It’s very comfortable, lightweight and sure-footed - ideal for fitness work or commuting. The components have a reassuring feel to them and Specialized have come up with an impressive design. Tredz offered the bike at the best price I could find and having bought from them before I had total confidence in buying from them again.

Very good bike

Bought about 18 months ago to speed up commute to work - about 14 miles each way. Took about 10mins off the trip - some hills on way so changed the cassette to a 34 tooth for easier climbing though not as easy as the triple chain rings the bike it replaced had. Been through a new chain and tyres but other than that all working essentially like new. The only niggle I have is the fact the 105 groupset is only really the derailleurs - the rest of the components are - tektro brakes and praxis chainset. I imagine the reason for the chainset was to get the higher gearing from the 32 tooth bottom ring which is great tbh. The breaks work well and use standard shimano pads. The little widget in the head tube works really well at isolating road buzz and small bumps - just wish the new lockout system was on it. my first bike with through axles and I have to say I'd be loath to go back to QR now as the alignment is always spot on. Paint Job is only OK - it looks nice but as I guess all matt finish jobs are it is prone to small rub marks. All in all I'm extremely happy with the bike.
