Product Description

Fit, Form, Function

Zipp’s Service Course lineup is all about giving options to match every rider with a high-performance, precise fitting bar. The Service Course-70 Ergo packs a powerful punch of everything you’d want in a bar – a design based on feedback from pro bike fitters and riders, an ergonomic top section, and a price you’ll love.

The Service Course-70 Ergo features trickle-down innovation from the Service Course SL-70. That includes the drop dimensions and a contoured top for a natural ergonomic grip on the bar tops for all-day comfort.

The Service Course-70 Ergo’s specially tuned drop shape creates comfortable hand positions with the short reach to control levers vital for race situations. The bar’s 70mm reach (the horizontal distance from the bar’s stem clamp area to the center of the brake perch) is the shortest of Zipp’s Service Course lineup. Its 128mm drop (vertical distance from the bar’s stem clamp area to the bottom of the drops) places the rider low and in control without compromising comfort. With the revised ramp angle, proper fit is now achievable on even the toughest fits. Whether it’s a rider with a shorter torso or a bigger rider getting aero by pairing this bar with a long stem, this bar helps put just about any cyclist into his or her optimal position.

Great bars, great price

282g for 40cm bars, lighter than the ones that I replaced. Really comfortable on the drops and the flattened tops feel really good when spinning away on the climbs.

Handlebars Guide

What are handlebars?

The handlebar is your means of steering your bike. It’s also the useful perch for all your accessories, like lights, computer and bar bag.

Who needs handlebars?

Handlebars are an essential component of any bike, unless you’re an unicyclist. You’ll probably choose an upgrade because you fancy trying a different bar width or shape.

What are the choices?

The main choices are drop handlebars for road-type bikes and flat or riser bars for hybrids and mountain bikes. Remember if you want to go for a dramatic change of bar shape, you may need to get new compatible parts, like brake and gear levers or a stem to make the conversion work.

What should I buy with them?

You can complement your new handlebar with a new set of grips or fresh bar tape, for a perfect finished look.

Anything else?

If you’re not sure what width of flat handlebar you’re comfortable with, remember you can always cut it down a little with a hacksaw. Carbon bars may require special equipment to do this though.
