Product description

The Specialized Diverge A1 is not just a gravel bike. It sits between the Roubaix endurance racer and the CruX cyclocross bike. The Diverge rides like a road bike on tarmac, and performs equally well on rough gravel tracks.

Compliant frame

A compliant rear end keeps your wheel tracking the ground whilst providing comfort. The FACT carbon fork and Zertz micro suspension take the sting out of the bumps. Clearance for up to 35mm tyres improves off-road capabilities.

Ride quality comes from the Premium A1 aluminium frame, this is the same frame as found on the higher priced Diverge A1 Sport. Specialized are known for creating strong, light and stiff aluminium frames for the best all-round road cycling feel.

Endurance road geometry puts you into a less aggressive, more controlled and comfortable riding position so you can eat up the miles.

Carbon fork

Upfront is a carbon bladed fork to help to help soak vibrations travelling up into your hands, helped along with Zertz micro-suspension.

Shimano gears

The Shimano Claris 8 speed with a Claris compact double chainset is optimised for long and hilly rides where a wider range of gears makes it easy to find the best option for your cadence.

Disc brakes

Mechanical disc brakes provide extra stopping power over traditional rim brakes, and they work equally well in all conditions. When you do head off the tarmac these brakes come into their own.

Tough AXIS classic wide rim wheels wrapped in durable 28mm road tyres won’t slow you down on the road and are tough enough for rough gravel tracks. Plenty of tyre clearance means you can put on knobbly CX tyres if you want to do more off-roading.

Shallow drop bars provide a shorter reach for a more comfortable riding position. The bar tape has gel pads just like the Roubaix which really increases your comfort as you eat up the miles.

Key Features :

  • Our A1 Premium Aluminium frame provides excellent performance in a budget-conscience option. It's been coupled with a FACT carbon fork featuring Zertz inserts for increased compliance and reduced fatigue on long rides.
  • The AXIS Classic Disc wheelset has been coupled with Espoir Sport tyres with Blackbelt protection to create a value-focused option with reliable performance and flat protection.
  • Coupled with an 11-32t Shimano Claris cassette, the durable Shimano Claris crankset provides ample power transfer and a wide range of gearing options.

Excellent Purchase

Was looking for a reasonably priced versatile winter bike and this one fits the bill perfectly. Have only had it a week but have been out on four rides already and it feels very lively. I am 5ft 10ins and bought the 56cm model and it provides me with a nice comfortable position. Thumbs up also to Tredz bikes for excellent service.

On-road, off-road Specialized Diverge is a good all rounder.

I bought the Specialized Diverge A1 because I wanted a fast road bike that would also perform well as a comfortable tourer and not self-destruct if I occasionally took it off-road. The Diverge has not disappointed. The gearing is perfect from the fastest decent to the steepest climb. The frame is light and responsive but also feels rugged and soaks up the bumps and vibration. A really great bike for the price, I am well chuffed with it. The only thing I will add is a second set of wheels wearing knobbly tyres for more grip when I'm on loose or muddy ground.

Precisely what I want and need!

Being my first non-MTB purchase, I need a bike that will assist in me riding from Bristol to Italy...easily!?! The alloy frame allows panniers, the carbon forks help weight, the tyre spec provides confidence and the gear ratio...spot on! Very happy with my purchase, and I'm sure there'll be many more rides ahead.
