    Sold Secure Gold Rating

The Squire Eiger Compact U-lock is an extremely tough security system to protect your bike in public areas. The Eiger bike lock has achieved a Sold Secure Gold rating. This is the highest rating a bike lock can achieve and it is insurer friendly.

To achieve Gold rating the Eiger Compact had to undergo sustained attacks to prove its strength. The 13mm diameter hardened alloy steel shackle is strong against sawing, drilling and cutting style attacks.

    Excellent lock

I got the yellow one and it is actually quite appealing. It is smaller (145mm X 85mm) than specified in the description but I found it handy and comfortable. The d lock feels pretty strong and it comes gold sold secure at a good price. I chose this one over a kriptonyte (which I had before) and I am happy about it. Nevertheless, sometimes I feel the carrying bracket could be stronger as it feels somehow unstable when going through uneven pavement.
