Lock has become amost impossible to use

I have happily had an ABUS lock before and wanted a length upgrade from my previous lock. The 30cm lock is a great length for being able to attach the bike to street furniture while still including one of the the wheels. My issue with this lock is that it's fiddly to place back in its holder ( you have to line it up perfectly and is enough of a faff to make you think: you know what, I can't be bothered to stop at that shop for a quick look inside, because I can't face putting my lock back in its holder when I'm finished!) Also, after less than one month of use, it became very temperamental and I had a couple of instances where I was unable to undo it. I worked out that I could wiggle it undone and wiggle it back in, which all adds to the dreaded faff factor. The lock has not been out in any extreme weather conditions (it has been used on a couple of rainy days) and I never had this issue with my other ABUS d-lock, even after 7 years of frequent use, in all sorts of climate conditions. So I am disappointed. I shall have a go at lubricating it, but think that I really shouldn't have to be doing this so early on in the piece. On the plus side, there is very little rattle noise from the lock when riding.

Trustworthy lock

Every lock can be opened...it's just a matter of time. With this lock it will take an eternity :) The only downside is that it's a bit heavy but it does the job.
