A Gates Carbon Belt Drive turns an 8 Speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub, which is an almost maintenance-free package. The belt drive requires no lubrication, so no grease marks on your legs or clothing and will not rust, ever! So can handle year-round riding with ease. Brakes are Shimano's excellent MT-201 hydraulic disc, which deliver dependable and easily controlled stopping power come rain or shine. 32mm Vittoria Randonneur Tech tyres offer a great blend of grip, durability and puncture protection whilst minimising maintenance issues further.
The URB's contact points have also been given careful commuting consideration, with the lock-on grips and saddle made from our durable Urban Canvas material to shrug off knocks and scrapes. Mounts for full mudguards and a pannier rack mount mean the URB can quickly adapt to wetter weathers and carry luggage.

Boardman URB 8.9 2023 - Hybrid Sports Bike
Superb bike. Gearing? I have used it touring in the Scottish Highlands. The lowest gears are perfect. It's fast too. Great too for commuting as it only needs hosed down to clean. I was so delighted with mine that when it was stolen after 5 months, I bought another.
