Product Description

In 1909, Mr Brooks and his son filed patent N°7709 for improvements in adjustable spanners in the form of a rather clever and simple solution for those cyclists in need of box spanners in a variety of sizes. Our new patent is an innovation upon the original, simplyfying the design and saving weight. Spanner sizes from 1-19mm are possible by sliding the two pieces. The smaller piece is also a functional tyre lever.

Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

Looks neat - absolute pain to use!

I have one of these brook spanners mine has a sleeve to keep the two parts together. The pain part is adjusting it to the nut size. The two parts have meshing teeth, to adjust it you break the spanner into its two halves then move the jaws to roughly the right place and then press them back into mesh with each other. This is a fiddly procedure and can take an age to get a decent fit on the nut. Well built, but having used it now understand why no other adjustable spanner uses this design - trendy novelty tool.

Excellent tour maintenance wrench

This is an excellent portable, adjustable wrench for tour maintenance. It is small but effective when you need to adjust, tighten or loosen a bolt or lock-nut.

Brilliant

Ive been looking for an elegant but effective adjustable spanner to fit in my saddle bag and this is it. Beautifully simple and totally functional ten out of ten for Brooks.

Workshop Tools Guide

What are home and workshop tools?

Home and workshop tools allow you to tinker around with your bike to your heart’s content. Whether that’s making a simple height adjustment or building a bike from scratch, kitting yourself out with your own mini workshop will give you hours of pleasure which will either annoy or delight your significant other(s).

Who needs a home and workshop tools?

Even novice cyclists will benefit from learning a few simple techniques. However, the more cycling you do, the more likely you are to want to learn how everything works and carry out minor repairs yourself.

What are the choices?

There are home and workshop tools available for all levels of rider, from a full tool kit to a simple torque wrench.

What should I buy with it?

Bike stands hold your steed in place to keep it steady and an apron and a pair of gloves will save your clothing from damage or smudges.

Anything else?

If in doubt, take your bike to your local bike shop for repairs. Better to have an expert fix it than to accidentally cause a fair few pounds worth of damage by having a go yourself.
