Product Description

Confident handling and killer spec. The Cannondale Trail 4 29er is a hardtail mountain bike that features progressive cross-country geometry and capable components for a confident ride on MTB trails.

Bringing a level of performance and handling normally reserved for higher end mountain bikes. The SmartFormed C2 aluminium alloy frame features a thoroughly modern geometry, with a slack 68 degree head angle and longer top tube which offers stable handling at speed and on steep descents. The short chainstays keep things nimble in the tight while the short stem and wide bars maximise control on rough terrain.

The 29” wheels on the medium, large and X large frame sizes offer rapid rolling performance on all types of terrain. Smaller riders will prefer the fit and balanced performance of the 27.5” wheels on the small sized Cannondale Trail 4.

The RockShox 30 Silver fork offers 100mm of plush coil sprung suspension travel with adjustable rebound damping, so you can dial in the performance to suit your riding style as well as the trails you love riding. The Shimano Deore 2x10 speed drivetrain offers a wide range of gears for taking on all the climbs while the Shimano hydraulic disc brakes deliver confident all-weather stopping power.

Begin your cross-country adventures on the Cannondale Trail 4 29er hardtail MTB.

Great bike at a compromise

I recently bought this bike as my 9 year old Rockhopper pro was getting a bit long in the tooth and I just wanted a new bike. In the fortnight I've had it it's been great but I upgraded the Crank to Deore M6000 straight away ( 2x10) and the rear mech to XT for my vanity. everything works as it should but the brakes are a little lacking coming from Avid Elixers as you have to pull quite hard on the lever to stop. So I'm looking at upgrading those to XT next. Then maybe in a year or two i'll get a proper Fork. It's adequate for the job it does but coming from a RS Reba you can feel the difference. Why did I buy the bike if I'm going to upgrade most of the components? Well I liked the colour and for £675 in the easter deal I just thought what the hell.
