    It's hard improving on perfection.

Last year's version of this jacket was called the Gabba Long Sleeve Jacket, but with Winter 2016 Castelli are going back to reserving the Gabba name for the original Gabba short sleeve jersey.

They kept hearing so many people call the long-sleeve version of the Gabba "perfect" so they renamed it the Perfetto Jersey and set about improving on perfection.

Castelli have improved the water-repellent finish so it will keep you drier without affecting breathability. They've refined the fit and laser cut the drain holes in the pockets. Also, Castelli have totally redone the splash flap on the rear of the jersey to make it lie flatter and fit better. Reflective logos on the back keep you visible.

    Key Features:

    • Fully aero, fully breathable and fully protected

    • Silicone gripper at waist prevents ride-up

    Perfetto by name

I owned, rode and loved the Gabba 2 Long Sleeve until I had a tumble and took the elbow out of it. It is now a Gabba short sleeve. However, even with NoRain armwarmers, the combination is still not as good as the original. I wore it throughout the Scottish Winter with varying base layers (LS, SS, merino or wicking) and it is just supremely comfortable for changeable weather conditions, coping with temperatures from 5 - 15 C and with dry, smirry wet conditions and even short downpours. It was never teh jacket that let me down. The nice thing is the level of comfort you feel because of the breathability; even with substatial effort, I rarely felt uncomfortable and with the windblocking properties, never felt cold. It was my go-to 3 seasons jacket. This one is the birthday replacement due to be unwrapped in September in time for cold and wet autumn riding, yippee. The only visual difference with teh perfetto are teh laser cut drain holes in the rear pockets: the old Gabba has a mesh insert which gave teh pockets some shape and allowed bulky items to sit and be retained low in teh pocket - I have yet to see whether this will prove to be an issue. Would I buy one again? What do you think?

My favourite bike jersey by a long way!

5’11” (180cm), 79KG and the XL is just right. I also have last year’s long sleeve jersey, the Castelli Gabba which this Perfetto replaces, this Perfetto is far superior, the new rear design works really well. I can never understand why they sell black bike tops when you can get a yellow one that is so visible. It seems that the price goes up and down by 30% on a daily basis, I got mine delivered for just over a 100 quid which is still a lot for a jersey made in Moldova but I do love it.
